How I got here…

21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.

Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).

To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.

You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.

Never quit,

Alex

*FULL DISCLOSURE*
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

I finally figured out what sets you apart from other personal development videos. You start providing value immediately. No long intros or nothing. Just straight pure facts. Thank you.

“Being broke his hard. Being successful is hard. You just have to pick which one might get you closer to your goals” We’ll said. Perspective is everything.

It’s refreshing hearing a motivational method that is not a complete echo. Thanks man.

Hey Alex, I really appreciate the content on your channel. I'm 25 and just starting to try to put my life in some kind of real order, and your videos have really changed my financial goals. Your chill approach to everything you talk about is refreshing. I think you'd make a good friend. Hope to bump into you some day. Keep up the videos!

Creating superstition around how you work…that was powerful!
I just hit the gym first thing (4:30ish). Then the work day starts. I crave simplicity

This video has had an immediate impact on my life. It’s the permission slip I’ve needed for so long to ditch the routines I’ve always thought I needed to be successful. I’ve always tried to adopt a morning routine because I’ve heard everywhere that it’s important but I’ve NEVER been able to stick with it and even when I did manage it for awhile, I didn’t see any improvement to my life. I felt like I let myself down every morning and that probably damaged my productivity more than anything else. Thank you for sharing Alex! Your simple approach to life is so refreshing!

I just watched your podcast with Graham and Jack. I took action and emailed 8 local gyms to work for them for free. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and the time you put it. I appreciate YOU

Alex the set a go to bed alarm early and wake naturally, but naturally so it’s still early is legit a new and novel approach. Thank you man 🙏

My anxiety is waking late and feeling behind. Your approach has solid merit, as get the sleep needed but still starting early!

So good, I fall into the trap of having to have so much to do before I actually work that I barely have time to work. Just like you said, it becomes a crutch and disadvantage if you have to journal, take a cold plunge, do interpretive dance and etc before you open your laptop. It kind of sounds ridiculous, just work haha

The thing that I've taken away from the continuous gems that you release is that simplicity always wins.

The stuff at 5:20 is so true. I once listened to someone and he was saying to wake up at five and do this, do that. I hyperventilated once I realized the routine was 60 minutes. That’s ridiculous, if I had to do something for a whole hour before I started working I would never have the drive to even start working. Simple is better! Wash your face and get moving!

How the hell do you only have 11k subscribers. i been watching your videoes for a few weeks and you are super super under rated. Your content is very high quality bar none. This specific video is golden man.. thank you. "Setting an alarm when to go to bed rather when to wake up" really hit home!.

Just found this video and subscribed. I'm an entrepreneur in the fitness industry and I like your no bs approach. I used to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to go to the gym before work and it was so nice keeping distractions to a minimum.

This was something that got confirmed to me. Staying reliant on a routine to get started. MY objective is focus only on bed time and planning the day before. The rest will take care almost of it self. thank you for this video

You can't say you eat the same meals every day and then not reveal what that is. That's like a holy grail of simplicity. I must know.

I'm so thankful to run across your channel. Thanks for passing on your experience taking a lot away from it. Been stuck for some time, and you've giving me the ammo to blast through it.
