The NHL actually got their idea for an outdoor classic from a high school team in Minnesota. The Baudette Bay Classic featured The Lake of the Woods Bears vs. The Saint Paul Johnson Governors in a North vs. South showdown that drew the attention of the big leagues after one of the goals scored made its way onto ESPNs Top 10. Though the NHL is more known for carrying the torch, the tradition lives on with several outdoor games being held on Hockey Day in Minnesota every year.

The emergency goalie isn't usually just some random every day Joe, even the Zamboni driver was one of the Leafs' practice goalies, as well as driving the Zamboni. You need to have a bunch of experience, and trust me as a kid i dreamed of getting called out of the crowd to go save the team, even though i was 12

Corrections: Punch Imlach was the Sabres coach and GM not the owner, and the fictitious Tsujimoto was Imlach's last pick in the draft as an exasperated joke to the NHL because it was so late at night and he didn't care who he drafted anymore because the NHL draft was a complete crap shoot at the end in those days.

The Leafs for Oilers trade fell through because Ballard was living at Maple Leaf Gardens, and, had the trade gone through, would have left him with no where to live.

4:05 i accually experienced this flood first hand I was 7 at the time and the scotiabank saddledome is scheduled to be demolished after the new sports centre is built sometime in the near future Im Calgarian and everyone I talked to here said that they were gonna miss the saddledome when its gone because it was a huge part of the flames history

The Saddledome should have been condemned from the 2013 flood but sadly, IT'S STILL STANDING!! Maybe a Nickelback concert in July 2024 can destroy the structure.
