By the way, the whole reason parsley is on your plate is because you're *supposed* to chew it and eat it at the end of a meal to freshen your mouth and breath. It's not for decoration, it's for fresh breath. The ancient Romans knew that.

My Grandmother used to send us grandkids a huge Cadbury's Fruit and Nut chocolate bar each at Christmas from the U.K. as a stocking stuffer. I remember looking forward to getting "real chocolate" (as my parents used to call it) every X-Mas. European Chocolate is waaay better than "American" chocolate, that's fer sure!!

The fact about "say prunes" is ignoring the fact that taking a picture back in the 1800`s also took several minutes. People had to stand still for what would have felt like forever waiting for the photo to process through and no one could comfortably hold a smile for that long naturally.

Plus with the Eiffel Tower, I'm pretty sure it was the architect, but he also didn't like it in the end either but used to have lunch every day on it. When asked why he ate lunch there every day when he despised it so much, he replied because it's the only place in France where he didn't have to look at it 😅

12:25 I used this method when I'm watching TV in a spare living room, since it doesn't have a receiver, I point the remote to try find out where the signal is being picked up, so I mostly aim the remote towards my head which kind of works on and off, but isn't a surefire way to flipping channels or pressing the guide button.

Just an add-in here. The lack of smiling in photos before the 1910s/20s is mainly due to the tech at the time. There were no fancy sensors or digital arrays/servos to allow a quick image. Smiling and staying still enough for the long exposure time was almost impossible. Stay golden everyone!

The fact that someone took time out of their day to tickle a rat and see what happens is hilarious to me

I TRULY love both... but I am a major sucker for the better taste of Cadbury! They're right, tastes creamier, more chocolate. Good stuff! And yep, I'm from USA!
P.S. I know this is a year later, but I don't remember weighing in... and I LOVE Be Amazed, and going back and watching older episodes repeatedly, as well!

People never used to smile when having a photo taken as it took awhile to take the photo and it was hard to keep the same smile going for so long so it was a clearer picture if they didn't smile.

Apple season actually varies, dependent upon the variety of apple. While Red Delicious and Golden Delicious ripen in September, Granny Smith is October-November, Gala and McIntosh are in August, Fuji is November, Gravensteins are July, and Pink Lady is November on into December. Most of these are widely available, which gives a six-month season for apples.
