I like that the man who had a former DUI now owns up to it, is part of this video and admits his guilt. You can see he has grown now and it is great that he tries to teach other people not to make that mistake

When I got a DWI here in MN, I went through the same experience. On top of that my family, friends, and myself went through the trauma that I wish not even my worst enemy upon. I was held for court the entire weekend and every minute inside that cell seemed like hours. The uncertainty, guilt, and sadness overwhelm you. That jail cell is hell. It was my first and last DWI and I am NEVER EVER EVER going back to that place! NEVER!

I lost my dad to a drunk driver when I was nineteen years old. My dad was on his way home from work late one evening when he was hit from behind by a guy who was nearly three times the legal limit. Sadly, when my dad's car was impacted, the gas tank (which was later determined to be faulty by the car manufacturer) was struck and his car burst into flames. There was so little of my dad's body left intact that we couldn't even see him before saying goodbye. His hands were melted into the steering wheel, and the only part of his face that remained was his lower jaw bone. It was a living hell. I usually don't discuss this, but I am so thankful for those who choose to post the dangers of DWI. There is NEVER an excuse to drink and drive. Today, there are so many options with Uber and such that it's easier than ever to get home without endangering anyone. I am now 48 years old, but when I think of my daddy, I will always be nineteen years old hearing the news that my dad has just been murdered by a drunk driver. DON'T DRINK and DRIVE! <3

They act like he's a serial killer or something. You'll be booked and 99% of the time you'll be released the same day with a date to return to court. hardly anyone with this type of charge stays overnight. Bed space is too tight for people who the jail needs to actually keep in custody. Such as hard core felonies.

I love how other countries adopted the US’s ideas for prisoners in jail to actually rehabilitate people. But the US never adopted their own ideas and are holding human people like animals.

Your choice:
- You can drink; or
- You can drive.

But not both.

I bet that guy noticed alot of differences having been sober for years. Different cuffs, procedure, and perspective.

they charge you even if you blow zero. It's just a way to make money.

Watching this kind of video should become a mandatory requirement for getting a driver license.

What a nice jail. Your own private space and toilet. When I got a dui I was put in the tank with 18 other guys to sit on concrete for next 8 hours

A lot different in mass, When I was arrested for Oui I was in a holding cell for 3 hours, $40 cash bail, and no jumpsuit just mugshot and prints. Court next morning.

It was a humbling experience in that I realized I needed help after my experience and I have been an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous as a result of my decisions ever since I realized that I am responsible for everything that I do today and the alcohol is not a part of it I have a true allergy that brings on the desire for more and with that come poor decision making

This is the process for poor people who can only afford a public defender.

In our jail, you can bond right back out as soon as you find the money or bondsman. Your car in impounded and your license go with your court paperwork. You do a breathalyzer when you are pulled over and if you fail it you're arrested. If you refused to test then you are taken to jail and you must get your blood drawn by a phlebotomist.
