Texas Sheriff Fires Disgraced Jailer for Allegedly Sneaking in Phone for Inmate

Security footage shows a Texas sheriff firing Collin County detention officer Tyler Moody for allegedly sneaking a cell phone inside the jail for an inmate. "You're fired. You're no longer an employee here," Sheriff Jim Skinner said to Moody. "You've betrayed the trust of every citizen we have the privilege to serve." Moody is now behind bars at the same jailing facility.

I worked in a large county jail for 5 years and witnessed this conversation take place probably a dozen times. This Sheriff said it better than anyone I've heard. When an officer brings something to an inmate, they are called a DUCK. I worked along side several guys who I would never think they would do this, but they did. Each story was unique but all of them ended with the person getting arrested. Inmates promise big money for bringing something in for them and almost every time, they are the ones who rat the officer out. I hope they start showing this video to OITs in corrections/detention facilities.
