I Tried Using The iPhone 6s For A Week in 2023

A few days after filming this video, still going strong with the iPhone 6s. I think this will be my last dumb phone video for a while, as this seems to be the golden ticket for me and my screen usage. Thank you all so much for watching, I hope you take the time today to spend less time on your phone, and more time in the world. Go for a walk, go for a run, eat a meal without a screen in front of you, or just enjoy the sounds of nature.

Honestly it’s a totally fine phone except the battery life

I use an iPhone 6s as my daily main phone in 2023 and have no issues with it. I even use an iPhone 5s as my secondary for music and YouTube. Apple still supports the 5s and 6s on iOS 12 and 15. All apps still support the 6s too, I’ve never came across an app that wouldn’t work on the 6s and lots of apps still work on the 5s even.

I remember when these came out. It took me 2 years to get one. 6s Plus rose gold 64GB. My first “expensive, phone” I still have it. It’s in brand new condition. This was a really good phone and it still is!

The fact that this phone is only one iOS version behind right now(15.7) versus the currently supported iPhones is nuts. I just read that Samsung will be ending OS support this year on the S20 series and they will not be getting Android 14 which includes the $1400 S20 Ultra that came out in...2020. I mean, I love Android, but that's downright absurd.

I still run my 4s and 6s + those were solid designs. Had good components and screens. Very easy to repair and replace plug and play hardware. Plus parts are still available and cheap to obtain! I ran an upholstery business for a few years all on my 4s as well. 👍🏼👍🏼😎

I have the same combo as you - an iPhone 13 and a 6S, lol. I just use the 6S as a secondary device around the house as it’s perfectly usable in this day and age. I purchased it new back in 2016 and replaced the battery last year.

It’s amazing that this phone is still only one version behind! It’s interesting how like Samsung will only give 2 or maybe 3 updates maximum. Also because it’s only one version behind in IOS app support is still pretty much complete (except for a few AR apps maybe).

I've bought this phone again as a temporary backup and the first time I ever owned one was in 2016...it was the fastest most versatile and easy to repair smartphone I ever owned and the power it had back then was insane... All these years later as a XR, 12 and 13 owner, I STAND by the 6S

The iphone Xr and 11 were the first iphones that had major improvements in battery life in my opinion. But damn the Xr is heavy phone😂

The iPhone 6s was pretty great. And you can still get an almost brand new one with the SE line.

I just picked up an iPhone SE 1st gen for nights and weekends. Thought about a light phone, but I’ll just keep it to phone/text, and you don’t lose iMessage, navigation, or camera this way either.
