Everyone always criticized Thanos by saying his plan was stupid that the population size would grow back to its size in just a matter of few decades. If that is the case, yes! It's very stupid, but have you ever considered this, knowing the power of the infinity gauntlet, that the snap may result in, not only killing half the Universe's population, but also creating some sort of constant; that population size can never increase to a greater size than what the snap had created. Thus, there are plenty of resources for everyone for the rest of the time... Just as he wanted.

I know, even in this case he failed to consider how much it will affect the remaining population; with resentment etc. Which may result in chaos instead of order. But then again, he's not a god nor a perfect being. Also a cheap price to pay for the greater good 😊
