I went from the 7700k to the 11700k right after they announced the 12th gen processors. Why would I do such a thing? For starters the 11700k went from 400 to 320 usd, and I didn't have to replace my ram or AIO. After experiencing the DDR3 to DDR4 transition, I remembered the pricing and limited availability, and during that time the market was far more stable. I think I made the right call and from these charts the 11700k(at 320USD) was a damn good upgrade. Great Video!

I finally upgraded to the i7 12700k from my old i7 7700k. The old i7 was a beast for a long time, but all those extra cores/threads of the newer i7 are so nice to have. Also upgraded from my 1080 FE to a 3080ti FE

Great content. While I work off my machine, the only thing that pushes it is gaming at 1440p, so I think this shows me I'm safe to hold on to the 9700k for another gen or two. Very much appreciated.

The 4 year upgrade cycle for PC seems to hold up for general usage. For gaming, maybe 6-7 years for the CPU

Very informative and clear video, I was thinking of taking the plunge and doing some upgrading as my almost 10 year old 700w PSU won't be able to handle a 3080. I was going to splurge and upgrade to 12th gen. But after watching this, I'm going to get a new PSU, new PC Case and put the rest towards a 3080. Looks like my 9700k is more than adequate for 1440p for some time to come.

Great, I got a 9700k + RTX 3070 and I'm playing @ 1440p. Bought the CPU 2 years ago and I'm still pretty happy with it.
