Evolution of Intel | All Intel Processors (Intel 4004 to Core i9)

Intel microprocessors are among the most commonly used processors worldwide. They are well-known for their advanced chip design and cutting-edge manufacturing.

It is not the case in the beginning. Initially Intel processors were known only to engineers and tech enthusiasts , but Intel’s advertising strategy and intelligent outreach towards the masses made it a household name in the ’90s. By the early 21st century, Intel's microprocessors were found in more than 80 percent of PCs worldwide.

So let’s go down the memory lane and look at the timeline of Intel processors from the first 4004 processor to the latest core i9 processor

i7 -> i5 -> i3 timeline totally took me by surprise . Very informative!!

I studied 8080 architecture, instruction set, everything there is to know about in college for my CS degree. It may look simple but it's very very very complex. Took us 2-3 years to learn everything about it and its counterparts (Z80 MCU, 8051 MCU, memory modules and other stuff I can't remember). If you think about it, if those MCU's were complicated, I am pretty sure it's almost impossible for a single person to fully understand a modern CPU such as the Ryzen 9 5900x that has 19.2 billion transistors on a 7nm architecture. It's crazy how much we advanced in 50 years.

I didnt really knew that Intel core I7 was first before i5 and i3

2:32 I don’t think anyone can imagine how they fit that many transistors in such a small space

*when you realise that your CPU is slower than these from 2000's*

you skipped the pentium D....first glued together dual core...

It's crazy to think that some of the processors aren't actually that old but it feels like another time.

Still got a core 2 duo 3.0GHZ PC after 13 years and it works perfectly.

That's extremely valuable info for embedded engineers. Wish you could show a summary slide with all of them on a single slide (just clockspeed, bit and core)

I am so stuck in the past, Geforece 4 Ti still gives me chills.

Compiling this would have been a nightmare. Great work .

Damn Intel has come a long way. But they haven't been innovative lately.

This is interesting. Take note at the 1:20 mark was when I'd gotten started at Compaq. I was literally building computers from scratch and good enough to build complete pc with my eyes closed haha for real. I remember in the lab collecting parts like motherboards and these cpu's to put together "scrap' computers in the lab to watch tv and play games. We were actually building various counters and playing network games to find any variations incompatible and fixing bugs. I was also involved in the development and testing if WiFi AND Bluetooth. So amazing how far they've both come, and the variances/uses between the 2 wireless technologies. Technology is so awesome.

thanks for this, it's very helpful for my assignment ^_^

Remember Moore's law "the number of transistors in a integrated circuit doubles about every two years" . The guy who said that, Gordon Moore, was actually the co-founder of Intel.

i love intel math
einstein:

count the numbers from 1 to 10
intel: 1 2 7 5 3 9
einstein: good job youre math is better than amd

Underrated, your video was really professional, but it had still only over 2, 000 views! I think i'll show this video to my friends!
