Great Amazon Must Haves for any Cat Owner:

Are you moving? Well, I'm pretty sure you're stressed and so is your cat. Cats can be very bonded to territories or the areas where they're comfortable. So when you move to a new location, you can expect that to be not only one of the most stressful things in your life, but also in your cat's. One way to help your cat with this transition is to take the same items that you had at your previous home with you to you new home. Sometimes it's tempting to get all new things when you move in, but for cats, it can be comforting to have things that are familiar.

When you first move into your new home, it's really important that you give your cat some time to explore each area. But don't let them have access to every space at the same time, it can be really overwhelming. Instead, especially if you're still moving things in and out, you may want to set your cat up in a bathroom or other small area with a litter box, food, water, some toys and a nice place to rest.

Then, when you feel like you have some time, go in and hang out with your kitty cat. If he's doing well, you can let him out for supervised visits to the rest of the home. Expect him to be a little nervous at first, but he should get comfortable within a day or so. If within a day or so you find that he's still hiding or distressed, you should talk with your veterinarian.

In addition, this is a time where aggression toward other animals or people in the home can be a problem. If you see that happening with your cat and it hasn't been a problem before, that's another time when you should reach out to your veterinarian. But in the meantime, put your cat back in his safe bathroom, so that he has a place to relax.

That's how you can handle moving with your cat.

I’m honestly sitting here bawling my eyes out. I’m getting out of a bad situation but I’m so scared of traumatizing my cat 😞

I just did this, it takes a lot of time. Lucky for us right now during quarantine we have plenty of time. My cat was outside, I saved her from being left to die on a abandoned property. She was my cat but my mom died and my step dad abandoned ship for a new wife and new life... I had moved out and went to college before hand. Luckily, I went back to the old house and tried to save both my cats. One survived, both pretty old. I had just started renting a new home so I was skeptical at first but it all worked out with time. She clawed the windows trying to get out, so I closed all the windows and doors and lived in the dark for a month. The yowling grow bad the second week and I was worried the neighbors would complain. I bought her a cat tree, calming treats and did everything Jackson galaxy said. Feeding, cleaning, playing and introducing the calming treat to her at night. The yowling decreased and she became sleepy from the meds. It worked!!!! I encourage anyone doing this to pick up, they have collars, treats and sprays. We tried it all and found one to work best for our cat. She got better, and better each day after her breaking point. Give it time and don’t shut her out of your room when you sleep because they don’t feel safe and will feel safer around you. You might go a night or two without sleep in the beginning, you might pull your hair out or start to fill out a form to give her up. But don’t give up, if it’s been one month please. I am glad I didn’t do it. She cuddles with me now and meows only as talking.

I took in a stray kitten that needed one, I haven't gotten to see a vet yet since I don't have enough money so I don't know her exact age but she is still young but also old enough she doesn't need her mother anymore. She's people shy and me and my boyfriend have a friend who owns a dog, she brought her dog over today even after I had told her when she first met my kitten that she didn't like dogs and my kitten was fine until finding out it was a dog, she attacked and I had to pick her up while my friend picked up her dog. I honestly could use a little help or advice or tips on how to help ease her into not running away from a person and to not attack a dog because my boyfriend wants to get another cat at one point. Any advice to help her out?

Izzy, , , and Wincey b4 her have had no problems with adjusting. Izzy and I moved from Maine to Colorado on planes!! The first take off she gave a tiny meow all the rest of the way she slept. We traveled as a family whereas it had been just the 2 of us. No problems. She was 2, than back to Maine. We lived in 2 places, 1 she hated. For 4 yrs we've been in the same place, but waiting to transfer to another unit. She's great.
