Double century at the age of 36 in the golden era of Aussies in Australia. What a splendid innings, I must say.

More than his records, I feel Brain Lara is the most Elegant Left handed Batsmen ever.

Lara scored 200* when the whole team's total was 340. Shows the greatness. What a flamboyant and brilliant batsman.

Sir Hobbs, Sachin, Sir Bradman, Gavaskar had all the shots from the textbook. Lara wrote his own textbook. Part scientist, part artist, complete GENIUS. That's Brian Charles Lara.

When the crowd of the opposition country gives you a standing ovation means that you are well respected. And Lara was respected everywhere he went.

0:43 OMG! What a decision!!! I think this was probably THE BEST decision of Aleem Dar! Not only that it looked out from a naked eye, but also that how critical correct umpiring decisions are, especially when there was no review system! Hands down, THE best umpire the game has witnessed.

His ability to come out and bat in the highest pressured situations is out of this world. Team at 19/2, walking out to face the likes of McGrath, Warne and Lee in the Aussie's backyard is an extremely difficult task to just survive. But to put on 200 (not to mention at the age of 36) just shows that Lara was in a league if his own

Brian Lara the stylish left hander who can play cuts, pull, sweep, flick, glance, cover drives, charging down, straight drives, great foot work and the one who plays the big innings and enjoy playing on Aussie soil.
My fav player Brian Charles Lara!!!

I would never understand how someone having so high backlift can easily trash a bowler speeding 145 + kmph

That was at another level of batting. He made bowlers like McGrath, Lee and Warme look ordinary. Absolute legend of the game
