Brian Lara 400 v England! | His Second World Record! | Windies

On this day in 2004 Brian Lara broke the World Record for the highest individual score in Test cricket, scoring 400 v England. Incredibly this was the second time he broke the record. He scored 375 against the same opponents, on the same ground, 10 years earlier! Matthew Hayden briefly held the record after scoring 380 v Zimbabwe in 2003 before Lara regained the record.

I watched this innings LIVE.
Someone people say Lara should have declared and gone for the Win.
If you compare which would have hurt England more... Would it be a Win against England or A world record and make england toil on the field for over 2 days.
I think the world record that is spoken even today, and a win would have been long forgotten today.
If West Indies would have won that match had lara declared scoring 200, , , you and me would not even remember that win now... But that recordning breaking innings even now we remember.
This Record was equavalent of a series win thats the happiness we could see on people's faces.
