Well Done! I have been sewing for nearly 60 years and have taught many lessons and worked as a designer in NYC, you are clear, comprehensive, clean, and neat. Thank you for your successful teaching in this tutorial.

This is definitely the best tutorial I've seen. Sometimes just watching someone do it is not enough and having you talk through the 'why' makes it easier for beginners. Thank you!!!

Thank you for not babbling constantly about Aunt Amy, the birthday party, snack you like to eat, etc. You spoke only what was necessary and did it well.

Wonderful ! I've shortened many pairs of jeans in my 73 years, but never knew this trick before. I guess one is never too old to learn new things. You are a very excellent instructor, providing clear and concise information, and pleasant to listen to. Thank you for taking time to produce this tutorial.

I’ve been sewing for 50 yrs and have one leg shorter than the other and struggled with getting the leg lengths even, this video has been an eureka moment.

I've been taught to do it a little differently. You don't cut the original hem off first. You just measure the the length you need to take out, from sewing line of Jean hem to length of new hem. Fold in half, right sides together, and on underside, (wrongside) sew together right under original Jean hem. Turn over to right side and topstitch fold. Serge off excess. Secure side seams if necessary. Important last step is to steam press new sewing. Makes it look like new. Hope I explained this clearly. I appreciate the tip about pinching leg when marking. Never knew to do that! You are an excellent teacher. Very clear, easy to follow and understand. Blessings!

The grab to prevent peak before chalking all around, is a very helpful hint.

Excellent video! Good focus, proper lighting, understandable instructions, and useful project. Also, no annoying jabber, clutter, me-me-me crap, or intrusive background music. BTW, I don't wear jeans but I still find the techniques useful. Well done.

My mum is a tailor and started sewing when she was 6. She gets headhunted all the time and well known in the industry for her ability to cut patterns that fit seamlessly. I am a fusspot growing up when she makes my clothes. Watching this reminds me of her. You are good. Everything is done precisely, perfectly, looks like you have given it a lot of thought but I bet it all come naturally and easily to you. Thank you for sharing this sewing process. The only thing I miss having is the industrial sewing machine as my home sewing machine is just not perfect for when going over those thick jean seams thus making it less tight and not pressed down. Thanks again!

I really like that you took the time to show the zigzag stitches on a sample patch with contrast in the colors. Well explained and useful for an untrained man who mostly only has a simple sewing machine just to change the length of pants 😬👍🏻😉

I have sewn for decades- this is the best tutorial I have seen for shortening jeans. Thank you!

I dream of buying a sewing machine and doing all these little projects for myself but now that I have watched all the tedious steps that were very well explained I think $20 is very reasonable for a proper hem. Thank you for making me see the light and a gray tutorial. If I ever do buy a sewing machine and attempt this I will definitely watch your video again.

Hey I’ve just finished my husband’s jeans this way and they look amazing. I was struggling a bit with sewing through the bulky seams but after two needles, few bad words and watching your video multiple times I’ve made it! Thank you!

I find it so thrilling to see young people sewing. It is amazing your take on tailoring. It is such an important thing to know. My mom was a seamstress and made a nice side job salary just altering people's store-bought clothes. I am also tickled that you are using machines from before you were born, at least it look like they are vintage. Happy sewing!

An excellent & well organised tutorial session that even a lay man understands well enough to ask an experienced tailor what is to be done.A great instructor. 👍
