Adding notes for easy access when I come back to this video:

1. Soak Macha whisk
2. Measure out Macha (2grams - 1tsp)
3. Preheat Macha bowl
4. Sieve Macha powder into bowl
5. Heat water (100-150ml @ 140-175°F/60-80°C)
6. Add small amount of water and whisk to form a paste to remove clumps
7. Add the rest of the water
8. Whisk gently to combine water and Macha (gently scrape bottom)
9. Whisk to create foam (keep whisk off bottom and quick zig zag motion)

Love how your videos don't gatekeep. Here's the best way, here's the traditional way, here's how to do it with whatever you have laying around. Great attitude!

Thank you for explaining the traditional way of making Matcha and what tools are helpful. Having learned about Matcha from coffee places, I had no idea how to prepare it. I thought that you had to add milk to get the froth! 😊 I look forward to brewing my next cup with more care and technique.

Loved the end of your video on key factors that affect foam. Would love a video specifically on matcha whisking techniques, dos and don'ts. Even better if you could interview or have a tea master share his/her technique!

Great Video, Thanks. I have just started my Matcha journey and am currently using some decent matcha I found on amazon, once I am good at making it I will definitely try the 21 sample pack. Such a cool idea!

Got a pretty good sized tin of this by accident (always remember to check sizes when online shopping 😅) and my girlfriend got me a set. The bowl is a bit different than these but it works pretty well and I LOVE using it. The only downside was my first cup I didnt realize I don't use a lot of actual tea and made basically 3 cups worth in 1... I got a lot of work done that day.

Great information! After whisking it and creating the foam, do you pour some more water and whisk it more?

Thank you for the video. Im a big matcha fan. We just started using ceremonial matcha at the café where I work.

Im curious though, what exactly are tea ceremonies? When I think of a ceremony, I think of a special event, like a wedding ceremony. What is the history of tea ceremonies?

Does the presence of foam have any effect on the health benefits or is it just for the taste and "experience"?

You suggest about 100ml per 2 oz, but many other sources say 50ml per 2oz.

Just curious. Does more water dilute matcha’s benefits? Or does it just affect taste?

I like my matcha at 100ml, but I also don’t want to miss out from the matcha’s benefits like the l-theanine and caffeine.

This was very helpful. I was using a TABLESPOON of macha which is 15 gram. I was adding I to half and half into my frother at 150/degrees. I was told not to use boiled water. So I was adding bottled water in. I want the whisk set. Also 15 g is definitely TOO MUCH but I was trying to replace coffee in my life. I hate the taste of coffee and i love macha. It’s bitter yet smooth and not disgusting like coffee. Second I don’t need flavors or sugars in macha. It tastes AMAZING to me. Coffee tastes acidic and chemical. I will try making MORE macha like 2 cups, not 1 tablespoon per my 10 oz coffee cup. So 4 g per 4*2=8oz
