when using the fork I slightly tilt the cup, it helps getting more foam!

It's important to know that ALL matcha products are good from a health viewpoint.
The ratings 'better' or 'best' are about artistic values --taste, fragrance, appearance.

My Japanese teacher mentioned some Japanese people use 4 chopsticks to mix matcha. No idea how I would hold them in my hand and stir the tea, but it might be worth an experiment. 😁

Been researching ways to make matcha when camping or backpacking, or simply if I’m in a rush. I think the shaker jar combined with a blender ball is a good lightweight and affordable option, given I could replace the jar with a lightweight bottle that’s a bit more durable. Boil water, add water to bottle with metal ball, add matcha, and shake for 2 minutes. If it’s more bitter than normal I’ll just add a bit of sweetener. Seems very doable!

I personally just put dishwashing soap in my matcha to make it more foamy 🤔

I use a handheld milk frother and it works great

There’s also the electric whisks you can buy for frothing milk that are apparently excellent.

What about fork for smoothing + Mason jar for foaming? I think doing it in those two steps might work.
Or a blender, maybe

I use a small spoon to drop the matcha powder into a bottle of apple juice, then put on the lid & shake. I shake it before each sip & it works fine.

I don't mind the taste so I just drink it without the foam. Pour some warm water over the powder, mix it teaspoon and that's it

you didn't shake the jar very well, more vigorously. I get a foam the easily rivals the whisk. The trick I find is to drop the water temperature by 10-20 degrees as the shaking seems to result in more heat and can give a little bitter taste at times. In addition to sifting, I gentle stir with a spoon (altering direction like a whisk) when adding the water. Have to use correct technique when changing tools. 🙂 Nice Video!!!!

I use a milk frother...I have both handheld and self frother. They both work good.

Thank you because I didn't know I got my matcha but no whisk so I order one. I guess I'll do the shake in a little jar for now. Thanks again. 😊❤❤❤

Thank you very much for these tips, talking about my favorite tool, it is obviously the electric whisk that can be cheap and can create almost the same foam as the chasen (and a high quality matcha)

Ps : you can turn a classic liquid milk into a cloud of tastes too.

I had a good idea after the video: A protein powder shaker! The results were really good!

I got a hand-held milk frother for making matcha, but I've still not got it right. I still got that bitter grassy taste. Is it because I can't sift the matcha powder or am I using too much? I got measuring spoons that measure in teaspoons for that. How much powder should I use?

How much is 2 scoops? What is a small amount of water?

is it also a good alternative if i’ve put the matcha in a blender after sifting?

Moral of the story : investing in whisk is worth your money 😌

So I use a thermos cup with a screw top cover ( similar to the Mason Jar effect) and shake the mixture for about a minute. Seems to do the trick.
