Oh man, I went to type this comment like 5 times, and this time I'm sending it :D I'm not a native speaker, so that might be it, but...OMG I had to chuckle at the "here" pronunciation each time 🤣 And honestly, I love it. Just wanted to share that. Cheers! :D

Your RAM usage is faulty. You simply provided to less RAM fpr the virtual machines so the SWAP file was heavenly used.

add the "WhiskerMenuPlugin" for xfce4 to get that search and modern start menu type.

У xcfe была максимум нагрузка на процессор ≈12%, гном с кде же из-за простого виляния мышкой могут нагрузить процессор на треть

Gnome is it's own thing, kde is basically very similar to windows and easier to use than gnome, and xfce is simple and straight to the point, but I love all of them.

I don't really understand all the fuss... it's all SAME SH__ different day.. and when it comes down to it what makes this so blooming great? It doesn't do anything the rest don't. I'm on MX and love it.. hard t let for for this-- for all the fuss- I'd expect a lot more from this one that just isn't there.

My opinion (I haven't seen the Video yet, so I just write by own experience):
Gnome: 😍
Xfce: ☺️
Cinnamon: 🙂
KDE: 😒

Now this is useful to me, because I tend to drop Mate on everything. How 'heavy' are the various DEs, on the same platform?
edit :
output of neofetch ~
ArcoLinux ~
Memory: 611MiB / 7950MiB (7%) Mate
Memory: 789 MiB / 7950 MiB (10%) awesome

KaliLinux ~
Memory: 531 MiB / 7950 MiB XFCE
Memory: 490 MiB / 7950 MiB Mate.

TLDR ~ Different desktop environments can change the 'weight' but there are several other differences. Different installs may use the 'same' kernel (in terms of the version number) but chose to include or not include a number of modules. For instance, quite a few now include fully compiled VirtualBox Guest Additions. The most recent reinstall I did of EndeavorOS came with complete working VBox Guest already in it.
Some people still send out dynamic modules for dodgy modems like it was 1997 : Broadcom.
Each distro can and does re-compile their kernel, and they first run the config, and decide what to include and what to remove. That obviously makes a difference to the memory 'weight' of that distro. Many end user focused installs have the whole M$ NTFS drivers, because on a machine that's running a windows drive and a Linux drive, or dual boot, that's extremely useful.
