Most minerals in limy water are actually pretty healthy. So the brita filter is designed, not to reduce these healthy ingredients. Ist ion exchanger, is desinged just to reduce Ca+ and Mg+ Ions.
Additionally (in Exchange) it addes otther Ions like Na+ Ions. This way, (with reduced) Ca+ and Mg+ Ions and added Na+ Ions - Tea tastetes much better, and it is much easier to create a good crema coffee. With less Ca+ and Mg+ Ions the heater element do not calcify so fast. And because of Adding Adition Na+ Ions, during the Ion-Exchange Prozess - water resistance didn't chage much. You can't messure the effects of a brita filter, (hardness of warter, Reducing effect of Ca+ Mg+ Ions) by messureing the electric resistance or just the parts per millions of the water. This test would fail. (It fails because, it is not testing, what the brita filter is realy doing. (You will not see much difference - with your test - to unfiltered water.).
If you want to test the effectiveness of a brita filter you have to use a titrant solution. That is a Green Testing Fluid. And its only testing the amount of Ca+ Ions in the water. If there is much Ca+ Ions in the Water, the green Fluid changes red imediatelly. Now you have to add more and more green drops in the water. It gets more and more red. And than perhaps with 14 drops the water changes from red to geen imediatelly. Do this sort of test - with filter water and again without filtering. Than you wll see, that the brita filter work pretty well. It reduced mutch of Ca+ and Mg+ Ions - without reducing all the other healty minerals in the water. Just to create water, that ist heathy, (tea and coffee) tastes better, and heating elements lives longer.

The basic Britta filter should be changed every 2 months

Brita filters are essentially useless in removing harmful chemicals. I recommend reverse osmosis or a distiller.

Buy a zero water filter, way better then Brita, even comes with a tds meter to check I think it’s a five stage filter but water tastes so clean it’s enjoyable to drink especially freezing cold, only problem is if you’re tap water is very hard, it kills filters fast and they aren’t that cheap, but overall my water is always clean and cold

I have two of the Brita pitchers and like how they work, I bought them in 2008 and the white filter use to take my readings for 225 ppm down to 11 ppm, now they have three different filters, white, blue, dark blue. with my last order of filters I used the TDS meter and tap water was 218 ppm and running through the filter it went to 171 ppm. Now you have to spend more money to get it to filter as it should. I talked to Brita and the lady said that you can't go by what a TDS meter says, which is a lie, that is what the meter is for. Just remember that the white filter is really useless but better than none I guess. I purchased the blue filter and it is worse than the white filter.

I make the teat to. Brita filters failed. 400 ppm still the same after filtering.

As far as I know the more filtered the better isn't exactly the case. We're not chasing pure H2O...

I have used a Brita filter for about 30 years. Recently, I was looking at the Brita filter box I bought from Target. It was surprising to me that Brita honestly doesn't remove the amount of junk that I thought it would. I think you are better off buying bottled water like Ozarka or one of the others. Brita does seem to make the water taste a little bitter...but, knowing this, I would rather buy the bottled water.
