Many of us, yes myself included, have struggled to beat the Grafted Scion, the tutorial boss of Elden Ring. The rewards are pretty great, but the sense of accomplishment is greater!

The Golden Order has been broken.

Rise, Tarnished, and be guided by grace to brandish the power of the Elden Ring and become an Elden Lord in the Lands Between.

In the Lands Between ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal, the Elden Ring, the source of the Erdtree, has been shattered.

Marika's offspring, demigods all, claimed the shards of the Elden Ring known as the Great Runes, and the mad taint of their newfound strength triggered a war: The Shattering. A war that meant abandonment by the Greater Will.

And now the guidance of grace will be brought to the Tarnished who were spurned by the grace of gold and exiled from the Lands Between. Ye dead who yet live, your grace long lost, follow the path to the Lands Between beyond the foggy sea to stand before the Elden Ring.

I ended up jumping on the tree behind him and just pegged him with power shot fire arrows. Was cheesy but effective. Wanted these swords badly. So good. Thanks for the video.

I got this guy down to close to 20% hp on my very first try. Decided to read up on strategies to beat him thinking I just needed a “little extra help”. Turns out I had the right idea. I used samurai and arrows just like in this video. After watching guides, however, now I can’t seem to get him past 80% hp. I don’t know what changed… I did so well my very first attempt!!

Sigh… Why did I buy this game…

Nice guide Blue! I love the samurai! The Unsheathe ability of the Uchigatana is also pretty strong against the Scion. Dex bleed build in general is pretty OP

I must’ve watched 5 or 6 YouTube tips & tricks videos that all said the tutorial boss can’t be beaten, that it’s scripted to win no matter what. I had a hunch they were wrong as I had the boss knocked below 50% health, also with the samurai longbow, on my very first try. I’m glad I found your video!

I beat the Scion with your awesome guide, then proceeded to kill the Tree Sentinel with the Ornamental Straight Sword like he was nothing. OP Start to the game!

I died like 10 times trying this. What seemed to change that caused me to beat it was that I kind of relaxed. I was playing leaned forward the entire time and alert. Eventually after losing i decided it was my last try and then I was gonna take a nap. Leaned back in my chair and was calm. Managed to beat m 🤷‍♂️ ty for the video dude. Very well explained.

Heads up, you can still have your sword as a right hand secondary option if you run out of arrows and still have a light load for those iFrames.

Helps in a pinch if you get him low and mess up enough to need it
