I really like the format of these videos. The sped-up timelapse with the commentary makes it condensed and to the point and, for people who don't really get much time to sit down and watch YouTube videos like me, short videos like this are the best!

Pro tip of sorts, 08:30. When you start painting over the rock texture, you can take 30 seconds to export the map into photoshop min/maxing the levels, then bringing the re-levelled version back into blender as a bump/displacement (you can even use a colour control as a slider for how deep you want the effect).
This means when you paint over the original texture the core shades of the bump map are in tact through the moss and essentially you keep those details while keeping geometry low.
This is actually what bump maps are for and the good thing about bump maps and displacement nodes you can stack them on top of each other and they all work together.

An idea for your learning Blender series would be an old west grave yard for games. Just a thought but keep up the great videos thank you...

Great video - I'd love to see a series of updated vids showing (watch out, I'm about to get greedy), blender 2.8 to do >> basic poly model similar to this (low poly) > sculpted details added (high poly) > painted PBR materials (as layers - aka substance) > Mapping added > export of maps, including normal, AO, cavity, roughness, etc > finally exported hp amps applied to lp model.. 'said I'd be greedy lol - would love to see you full workflow though - Great vids! Cheers

Can you make a video talking about the subjects that we should learn (some kind of path) to become a good 3D artist?
There's a lot of this stuff about programming (like "path to web developer"), I would like to see this content for modelling and stuff as well.
By the way, I loved this video.

AMAZINGLY awesome, thank you veryyyy much !

PS : You know, it reminded of the old Castlevania IV intro on the super nes where we would see the tombstone being struck by lightning and Dracula as a bat escaping, it would make for a great revamp of the scene :P <-- Super Fan of Castlevania XD

You should of had the moss as a separate texture and the same with the erosion then go into the node editor and combined them
