I like how the final battle for resources in stellaris is actually for your cpu processing power :)

You do not have to kill them.
Just trap them inside a inpenetrable shield around they 0lanets for a few thousand jears.
This way you have no lag from them, the enemy economy is collapsing and the inhabitants of the shielded planets are safe from war and cosmic deasasters (well, most of them).

It literally doesn't matter what ethic you're talking about or what actions are being committed, from devouring swarm to xenophilic spiritualits, any conversation with them is going to start with; "I am not the villain of this story"

lol once I was using birch world and would conqueror all worlds and send most of the pop to birch world to reduce crime from recently conquered civilizations (this was before relocating pops costs influence) and eventually had like 8k pops on my birch world and just clicking the planet dropped my fps to about 1 and it was almost impossible to do anything on it.

This is why i play with total assimilation mod.
Having only one or two races in your emprie cuts lag by half. And almost completly removes lag from pops.


Yup, it is the amount of diferent species and subspecies that causes lag not the amount of pops, every week or so game checks every single job with every single species in your emprie tryng to shufle them into most optimal jobs and generating stupid amount of lag doing so.
Especialy AI empries picking biological ascendency path is main villan here creating milion subspecies that generate lag, and interspecies compatibility ascension perk that genereates them ad infinitum, with is the reason you can disable it in game settings when starting game.
Now when there is only one species game only has to check on new jobs essencialy remowing lag from pops.

This is how I feel when Im trying to vassalize my neighbor peacefully since they were allies, but are blocking the hyperlane routes and just won't get past -30 acceptance no matter what I do.

also applies for egalitarians, you conquer worlds and those xenos are equals as you so you can't kill them, yeah your economy sky rockets due to the new pops but your pc suffers from lag
