The English Dub SUCKS in Wuthering Waves

I know i'm not the only who noticed this. The English dub for Wuthering Waves is kinda bad even though some of the voice actors are good, this could be an issue with the voice direction.

If yangyang is the mascot, then the VA needs more emotion if she's gonna speak a lot

Yangyang's voice was soo monotonous that I had to leave the game and take a nap. It reminded me of a class with a monotonous lecturer

Also, I find it funny how there's another Liyue situation going on where VAs are saying all kinds of Chinese words and names differently from one another.

In a nutshell, suffice to say it may not have been the best idea to ask several British VAs to put on an American accent.

Guys keep in mind that the studio hired to do the voice acting in this game is SIDE London!! The same studio for FFXIV’s voice acting actually!! And as any of you who’ve played that game would know, many of the VAs are British (obviously). The reason why so many of the line deliveries are flat or awkward in this patch cant be entirely blamed on the VAs, it’s because many of them were forced to put on American accents. The developers did say that in the future they will go back on this decision and allow the voice actors post-Act 2 to be able to act within their comfort zone! (As for many of them, putting on an American accent was something they were INCREDIBLY unused to) So you can look forward to what will likely be many more British accents but also better deliveries in upcoming updates. Hold out hope for the voice actors still <3

Another issue I had with it when I was watching your playthroughs is how sometimes the text doesn't match with the voicelines, and then there are cases where there is a super long voice line that you have to scroll the text down to read it.

The fact that majority of these VAs are in Arknights, and they did better performances there. It’s really the direction they were given

Yup, for me the female mc is especially monotone, 2nd is yangyang, i was shocked, i switched to jp and now im in peace.

And when the text is too long, i cant seem to scroll down, so thats half of the story i missed

I know Wuwa is going to fix these, so ill be patient :D

I agree with you, most of the English actors in this game lack no voice direction or input about the characters they are voicing. Its like they were given the script with no context, but also some of it is on the actors themselves. You can see the lines. If I was acting and I read "Be careful Rover", or something similar id act concerned. It seems the only things most of these English speaking actors were concerned with was just phoning it in for an easy pay check. If there is a dub I normally play in dub because I hate reading so much text (in games like these its worse) but I might turn off english voices soon. Also the generals voice actor is as bad as YangYang. Scar however is wonderful.

I'm currently at the spot where we met the monk leaving the city. I haven't been able to play any more story because of my work schedule, so I've stuck to unlocking teleport points and some exploring.

I'm giving the English dub a chance, but it definately needs work. It's like some of the VA's have never had a conversation with how monotone and emotionless their voices are. And the sentances that are cut off or missing in text are a little issue

I'm enjoying the game, even though there are some things that need fixing

Another thing that happens with I think all dubs its that sometimes when some voice line its near to end, instantly goes to the next line, like "Hello rover, you shorld do some tas-" "oh, and remember doing it well". This is an example, but it happens quite often that changes very fast line to line even if the automatic mode its not activated.
