I’ve been binge watching Turkey Tom all day, and hearing Geekdom say this just restored my faith in humanity. We’ve come a long way from the “Z vs Kai” days

Even the voice actors have admitted the old DBZ dub isn't the best quality acting and script wise, and if you want quality you either go Kai or Japanese.

For me, as a person who grew up with the OG JPN ver., all I could say is this:

ENG Dubs Fans, I understand. I get why you love, defend, and prefer the ENG dubs of Dragon Ball. I like them myself, I see the charms. I watched the Ocean dub (Saiyan Saga to Namek Saga when Goku arrived) to FUNimation dub (Namek Saga to the end of Z). I even saw the OG DB, GT, movies and specials. Like all of the classic dub of Dragon Ball.

I just happen to love the JPN version more. I had to sit through everything to give the dubs a shot and I do get why was and is still loved to this day. So please, please watch the original JPN version, give it a chance. If you guys had seen the JPN version the whole way and still don't like it, that's fine. I can't change your minds. At least we can agree to disagree.

Indeed kai is much better than its original dub they sound more accurate and they sound much much better than what they were back in the day matter-of-fact in dragon ball I started out with Kai

The comments not know that these nostalgia fans keep insisted Geekdom to watch the dub instead of acknowledging his "reasonable" preference and respect, and I agreed with him, it's fine to be nostalgic but they need to learn that Z dub OBJECTIVELY bad! I grew up playing and liking Mega Man X4 and doesn't mind its bad dub, and as time passed and I explored thing more, I know at the end of the day, the dub of MMX4 suck! DBZ dub suffered the same problem.

Imo reason why the dbz dub was bad was bc toei gave funimation poor quality resources such as audio, scripts, music etc. plus funimation was inexperienced with anime dubbing in 1999

I do like the Faulconer score but I agree that the script has too many errors and that Frieza’s voice is awful.

It’s literally an opinion…. People can prefer the dub over sub and legitimately think it’s better than the other. Silly to think you can try to impose your opinion on others by sounding rude, immature, and loud 😂 And I love Geekdoms content. Just not this take.

I’ve said this for years if you like the original funimation dub Or funimation kai dub or the sub like what you want to like people need to stop rubbing the old dub in peoples faces

The Faulconer score is nice, but it doesn't fit Dragon Ball now that I reread the manga and watched the sub. It makes it have a rock-esque to it when DB is literally supposed to be Chinese themed and martial artsy

Nah there are quite a few animes that have great dubs. Full Metal Alchemist, DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, and YuYu Hakusho are prime examples
