My kids laughed at how horrible this movie looks, and I can't pry them away from the games, books, etc. if their lives depended on it.

The target audience thinks it is crap. I think it is crap as well despite loving the game, but chalked that up to being over 40 these days.

They have a dud on their hands I feel.

3:54 That's not a micrometer / screw gauge. It's a swivel eye snap hook. Like the thing at the end of almost every dog leash? It's just connecting what is most likely a wallet chain to his belt loop. Actually it looks like this one specifically might not be swivel eye, but it's the same type of hardware anyway—a metal snap hook.
