I would add to be generous with your words. Freely offering praise, encouragement, compliments, and kindness to others, uplifting people with the power of your words. ❤

There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving

I had two besties who were living kidney donors. Talk about role models! So I donated, too. Wonderful experience and I hope others are able to do this. Nice topic today.

How much money is wasted on our stomach with junk food snacks, takeout coffee or a fast food lunch. Donate instead- healthier for mind and body 💗

I grew up with parents who were very generous & it rubbed off on me. It is very humbling to be able to give in so many ways. I told my Mom recently that if I could, I would give away every penny I had...but we do have to live& pay our household bills. My Hubby doesn't want to live in a tent in the woods. 😊

I grew up poor and later in my life there where times when I lived a good live and also times when I was poor again. It changed a lot. At the moment I am able to pay my rent and my bills, to take care of my now 20 year old car which I also bought used ( lots to always be repared😉), to buy gifts for familymembers and to start a few days of vacation once a year. But that's it. I never go out eating, I buy nearly all of my clothes and furniture second hand etc. But nevertheless I always gave and give money when I am able when I see someone who needs it or when there is a call for donating in earthcrake regions or something like that. I think it is because I know how it is to be poor. Greetings from Germany 😊

Love this! I've personally taken the Giving What We Can pledge, sort of like a secular tithe where I give 10% of my income to charity. Obviously people have been tithing for generations. As you say, we do tend to spend whatever we receive and with lifestyle creep, the more we earn the more we spend. I still do, just with 90% of my income.

Some people have donations go out with pay automatically so they don't even have to think about it, just like a gym membership, but I like mine put aside in a giving account and donating manually wherever I feel is important. It gives me a little pick me up, while there is so much rotten stuff happening in the world, I feel like I'm doing something to help.

Giving blood or volunteering is great too!

God asks us to be graciously generous and He absolutely multiples our giving.

Excellent video. I would also add a simple and affordable way to donate is at the grocery store. Here in Canada many of the grocery stores have a card that they will scan for a $2.00 donation to the local foodbank. I do that every time even though we are regular money donors (automatic payment) to the food bank. I especially like to take my grandkids in when shopping and explain that you don't have to give a ton of money to make the world of difference. We have a "teachable moment" to talk about how many people pass through that grocery store in a day and how much money and impact that would have at the local food bank. Thanks for everything you do.

I find that people who aren't generous are difficult to have in your life because they tend to hold back in many other areas: kind words, honesty, acts of service, making an effort to lift up someone who´s down, being inclusive and helpful towards new colleagues and just having a light spirit and not keeping score😊

fostering and being very good at it, is a very generous gift if you are able too.

i had a foster carer who was out of this world for my little boy and mr and weve become friends who i cherish and view as part of my family. its a big steep to give up her bedroom, her time, her thoughts and feelings and wow, she worked many late nights feeling in paperwork.

Thank you for this video. I watch all your videos but never got a chance to see it so quickly. It's better to simplify and be able to give a helping hand. God made us all. The expensive coat etc can't be taken with us when we go, but knowing that there is less suffering when we do go gives us a good feeling. Before I go I want to see more positive and moral concepts and a higher level of humanity. God Bless you and may we never forget the price Jesus paid for us. 😢

Minimislism definitely helps as after adding up the total debt I have budgeted and reduced the stuff coming in. When i get to a £5, 000 reduction in debt i have chosen and set up a monthly donation to a charity. Once debt free and saving then I hope to be more generous ❤

3:38 give your first fruits -- beautiful & Biblical -- no regrets!! Also, study and pray about the principle of "subsidiarity" -- assisting those directly, in your physical circle -- neighborhood, family, faith community. Cut out the middle-man

A lot of times I used to think I couldn't give because I didn't have the money and I still don't have the money because I'm on a pensioners.
Income. But what I Enjoy doing is giving up my time. Just being aware of someone who needs you if they are down or out you can listen to them. You never know you might just save somebody's life.
Or phoning somebody and asking how their day was going. Just taking note of who needs company.
The main thing is whatever you can do If it's given out of the heart then it's extremely valuable.
