In this video I go over the process of removing and installing the evaporative emissions canister purge valve on a Ford Duratec 2.5L. The vehicle featured in the video is a 2012 Ford Fusion equipped with a Duratec 2.5L. However, this particular Duratec 2.5L was used in other Ford models over the course of several years so the information found in this video is applicable to many other Ford models. Recently came across your video due to mechanic shop showing bad purge valve on the diagnostic. Cost to replace was $200-$250. Watched your video, bought the part and replaced it. Made the check engine light turn off so I assumed it was done right. Now my only hiccups were that I didn’t have any oil to put on that washer. And I didn’t have any type of torque wrench. I did however tightened it to the point it was on there super super tight. With no wiggle room to move. Do you think this will be ok? I drove it and it seemed to be ok. Thanks for the great video!

Is the purge valve supposed to stick out a bit when I replace it?

How do u reset the computer after u change it? Or will the light go out it self?

I replace the purge valve of my ford fusion 2013, at the beginning everything was ok until i pour gas on the tank it had a slow start any suggestions?
