How To Replace Canister Purge Valve On A 2011-2017 Ford Explorer - P1450 Code

This video demonstrates how to remove and replace your canister purge valve on a 2011-2017 Ford Explorer. If you have the codes P1450 and P0456, replacing the Purge Valve will most likely fix it. Tools needed are: Ratchet with 8mm socket and a pry tool.

Thank you so much for your amazing video. I went to the dealership and paid the fee to have this checked out on my 2017 Ford explorer Sport model 3.5 Ecoboost engine. Now i will order the purge valve and install it myself as the dealership want almost $400.00 Canadian dollars just to install this. That's a rip off.

Thank you SO much! I have a 2016 XLT and was able to save myself time and money! $25 part and a little time and I had it fixed! Unhooking the battery did not clear the code however. I had to go back to the auto store for the scanner, plugged it in, and hit clear/delete. My gas mileage is better, and the check engine light has not come on!
