How To Replace Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid Valve 2006-12 Ford Fusion

Vapor canister purge solenoid valves are an important part of the EVAP system that allow the contained fuel vapors to be released into the combustion chamber under certain conditions. Modern purge valves are controlled by the vehicle’s computer system, and electronic solenoids. Failure of the valve or the control solenoid will result in an emissions trouble code that could prevent passing emissions testing. This video shows you how to install a new vapor canister purge solenoid valve on your 2006-12 Ford Fusion.

This repair was done on a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL 3.0L Sedan 4-Door AWD and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

This is not a "Purge Solenoid" it's a "Canister Vent Solenoid" the purge solenoid is always in the engine bay

I am about to replace my fuel pump. No codes just wrench light. Constant fuel pump pumping when running random fast pumps. Could it be this canister causing fuel pump to pump gas?
