I just finished my first 48 hour fast. I was surprised at how easy it was. I was only hungry the last 4 hours. Will definitely do it again.

I have made fasting a lifestyle for the last year to overcome sickness and achieve weight loss. I have been successful in both. It wasn’t until this year that I tried the 36 hour fast. It was not as difficult as I thought it was going to be because I had been teaching myself to fast for 20 and 24 hours. Not very often but enough to help me with the 36.I think I may try a 24 hour fast. I encourage everyone to build up. This is such a healthy lifestyle. Thank you, Dr. Mindi you’re the best.

I first discovered IF in 2020 in June
I started slowly by pushing back my breakfast and hour and getting used to that and then pushing it back to two hours and so on. I have a crazy sugar addiction. And through fasting, I’ve realized I feel so much better when I avoid sugar! I am currently doing OMAD most days where I keep my carbs at 30 or less. I’ve found myself looking for a new challenge, so I’ve started incorporating longer fasts. 2 weeks ago, I completed a 3 day fast. Now I’m on hour 40 of a 48 hour fast ( I may extend to a 3 day)
I just wanted to thank you for all of your videos, and your book!
You are a huge help for me in my journey to find my healthy and happy self! 😊

For so long I had terrible mental health a drug and alcohol addiction and a binge problem I went to the doctor and they got me on antipsychotic medication. I was on the meds for about 6 months. on the meds I had no “joy” I was very bored with everything I did, even things that brought me joy before it felt like nothings I did gave me dopamine I had zero motivation. Once I got off the meds about a month ago I noticed a huge difference in my relationship with food and what I found to be “joyful” was different I ended up going to the gym and now the gym gives me the dopamine I felt using drugs and alcohol before getting on the antipsychotic medication. Now I don’t have a bad relationship with food anymore I can fast for days no problems, I feel like an entirely different person which is why I came across these videos because I’m just so confused as to how I feel like I pressed a reset button with my body. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

I’m on day two of my very first 48 hour fast. I’m trying to make it mind over matter. The longest faster than ever done was 39 hours. I know I can do this. I am hungry, but I’m gonna be drinking some tea today and see if that makes it go away. I hope this helps me lose weight, and I hope it helps my depression. Thank you! I am taking on your weekly challenge.

Dr Mindy, this post is concerning one of your podcasts I listened to today. I was listening in my car and I just felt that I wish I could reach out and give you a hug. I was listening to the podcasts on amino acids and you asked your speaker specifically concerning amino acids and women over 60yo. How often does anybody include information about our older age group? Hardly ever….except Dr Mindy. You are amazing! Will this work for movement disorders particularly dopamine responsive dystonia, DRD noting that the meds are carbidopa levadopa? What research exists?

So many benefits that I learned about from you for these longer fasts: miracle grow bdnf for the brain to get us out of pre-dementia and now dopamine receptors. Now I make the connections why I know an 80 year old went back to school (he eats a meal a day) and why my 27 year old friend does not want to fast, watching this video it’s probably because of the dopamine, yet she is gaining more and more weight. The good word of the day is you are perfect because of Jesus. Just like how our bodies should stay away from glucose to get all the amazing benefits, we should stop saying to ourselves that we are “sinners.” To say so means that Jesus died in vain. Jesus washed away everything clean, you are perfect, clean, righteous, holy, by faith we are clean by the words that He spoke to us. Just like fasting, it seems counterintuitive, but the true Gospel is just that. You have already been forgiven, no asking forgiveness. Everything has already been done. Goodmorning Dr Mindy, I have a question. I am wondering if excersise will fast track the benefits of fasting or not? I think it would make a great video. For instance, can a person get the benefits of a three day fast if they do a two day fast with a good workout thrown in 12 hours into the fast?

what if your dopamine is already very low. how can I get the dopamine besides cold showers diet and exercise I still feel f*cked up. a little bored and mood? damnn I feel like dying it's not only dopamine I think. can you go so long fasting when on antidepressants?
and do all people rebuild dopamine receptors.
