Before playing the video I’m guessing the questions are;
What is your name?
What is your quest?
What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

I usually watch a few YouTube videos while preparing and eating my breakfast each day. Some days I struggle to find something interesting to watch, but never on Saturdays. Thanks for that, Vince.

As a beginner in mini painting, coming to it to learn new techniques for my model making hobby, I found this video inspirational. I have found myself drifting somewhat in my other hobbies and now realise that it was because I had not identified specific reasons and goals for each project. This video has renewed my enthusiasm and given me fresh focus. I feel that limiting the topic of this video to mini painting does it and you a disservice - it is equally applicable to any hobby, sport, career and such things as learning to play a musical instrument. It is amazing how different I feel from the few minutes spent watching this video - thank you 👍☺

"What a breath of fresh air!" I have needed to answer these questions for such a long time.. It has cause such alot of frustration within. Thank you so much vince.

I think I needed to hear this. I surely have enough models that could be considered "fun" pieces that I could use for fun or even learning opportunities.

I was waiting for "thanks for coming to my TED talk" at the end.

In all seriousness, great episode. Thank you for everything Vince

Great video, Vince. I love content like this. It's so refreshing and energizing to hear you talk about painting and our relationship to it as painters with such passion, kindness, and joy. Keep up the great work, and thank you again for all you do for the community!

Question 3 is really a good one. I asked myself this with my last two projects. For my KO, I wanted to learn some next level basing including resin pours and more "telling a story" with the bases. I kept their actual paint scheme relatively simple, using techniques and colors that I'm very comfortable with so I could focus my creative juices on the bases. For my current project, Iron Hands, I'm trying the oiled Forgeworld look using translucent paints through the airbrush. I am NOT comfortable with the airbrush so I'm using this as a big learning opportunity.

Thanks for the video. I'm painting up a crew for Stargrave and learned that it's tough to paint every model in a different scheme but still make them look cohesive.

Definitely speaking to me in this one. Dominion has arrived at my door and the planning phase has begun. Is it wrong to plan by time spent per model? I'm thinking... what can I achieve in 4-5 hours per model. That's what it takes to get to the level I'm comfortable with, and a natural stopping point. I'm in no rush, I paint for the enjoyment.

another excellent video about the good words of Vincent

great points as always, definitely having an aim of the painting helps focus what you want to achieve. Working on fast and accurate lined brush work with some Nighthaunts, a unit of 30 chainrasps has made a massive difference.

That comment about doing a whole army in NMM hit me where I live, I've been doing that to learn. Beaten copper is still very hit and miss.
Thank you for all you help Vince, I have learned a lot from your videos. 🙌

This relates back to another video I saw about painting with a purpose. I wanted to learn how to use my airbrush… so I picked up Nighthaunt. Painting with an achievement in mind can be really helpful.

Thanks Vince! This resonates with me in a deliberate way. Purpose & Intent, Resources & Capabilities, Key Takeaways & Lessons Learned. The hardest part is just sitting down and doing it, lol. Planning paralysis, so to speak. Gotta pull that trigger!

without a doubt, your videos have given me the most motivation to paint than anything else in my hobby. Thanks again Vincy V

Great video as always!
For army painting I totally agree in trying new things here and there, I think every character in my 8, 000pts of Ultramarines are all slightly different in how I painted them, I think it makes sense for HQ’s etc to stand out from the rest of the army.
