Techo Funan Canal project benefits the nation, says PM

Prime Minister Hun Manet said that the Techo Funan Canal project to link the river system to the sea route will be developed under the BOT (build-operate-transfer) contract.
Mr Hun Manet made the remarks on Wednesday at the inauguration ceremony of Choeung Ek Sewage Treatment Plant in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district.
He said that Cambodia did not borrow money from China to build the canal, but the construction will be conducted in cooperation with the private sector in the form of BOT.
He said that the Funan Techo Canal project has been carefully studied by experts for the benefits of the country.
Mr Hun Manet also blasted the Cambodia Daily for exaggerated the news.
