There used to be a clip up where Will walks in and Charlie is playing the song on his computer. As Will walks in Charlie says "name that song." Will says "play a little more." Charlie puts it back on, and a second later Will says "Tom T. Hall that's how I got to Memphis. Since when do you listen to country?" I like the whole clip. It puts the scene in context.

Totally bummed they canceled the show. I just discovered it 3 weeks ago and finally watched the last episode. Perfect song to end. My heart dropped when Charlie died. Gonna need a few days to process the series. Awesome cast and writing. Bravo 👏 👏 👏

A great ending to the greatest ever tv series

I have watched this 100 times and it still makes the hair on my back stand up. A truly brilliant ending to an unforgettable series! Earlier in the episode Charlie explained to will getting to Memphis was a euphemism for how we get to any bad place in our lives. Pretty relevant for how the hell we got to this pandemic still in By the way Jeff can really play the guitar that well!!

Haven't heard this song in many years. Brings back boyhood memories as my family lived in Memphis until I was 18 and enlisted in the USMC. Sometimes music like aromas can flood your mind with sweet memories. It's been 49 years and it seems like yesterday I was riding the Ferris Wheel at The Cotton Carnival down on Front Street eating a snowcone. Time passes so quickly. You look up and 50 years are gone.

Im glad they got Jim to sing at some point. John Gallagher Jr won a tony in 2007 for his performance in Spring Awakening. He’s a phenomenal singer and I’m glad Sorkin worked it in somehow

Definitely the best ending to a tv series ever. Jeff Daniels is really that good at playing and singing and does say he's just an actor on the side.
