Wow I took my Asian squat for granted… squating seems so natural but others have to actually train to squat like that

I did this between sets at the gym because of calf cramps. Six months later and I now have unparalleled hip mobility and can sit in this squat position for as long as I want anywhere completely relaxed. Also, no more calf cramps :)

I don't have a lot of talent in lifting, but one of the advantages that I'm happy about is that I'm able to do this "Slav squat" or "Asian squat" very naturally. And it really helped me to put out some big numbers in squat ( in comparison with my bench and deadlift )

Such a comfortable, helthy and practical position. It's sad most of people can't do it thus it's a bit weird to sit like that

I first heard about asian squat a few months ago, and it really surprised me because i realized that i have been doing this all my life since i was a child, and idk why because it's not a common thing at all here in France, in fact nobody do that

Most of my adult life I thought I couldn’t squat. Progressive exercises do help but what really helped me do it was finding out I could just spread my feet wider.

It's not the mobility but blood circulation. My legs go numb in a couple of minutes

I’m 42 years old and used to sit like this easily. Unfortunately I had a meniscus tear last year and subsequent surgery, so I’m not able to do it anymore, although I’m hopeful that with my strengthening exercises I’ll be able to do it again in the not so distant future.

My ankles are stiff stiff! I’ve been squatting for ages cause of Malasana Yoga … n have not been able to master full feet 🦶🏼 on the ground…. Definitely trying this …

Or get a japanese style bathroom setup . 5-20 minutes every day, multiple times a day, everyday!
