Changing a four prong dryer cord to a three prong dryer cord is not difficult this is an easy how to wire a four wire cord video.
If you lost any of the screws the terminal block will not receive the other screws without stripping out. I have included a video on how to go to Lowe’s and buy the terminal block screws in case you have a lost one or your dryer did not come with the right ones.

I did it! It wasn't as easy as it could have been but only because the colored wires on the new cord weren't very long. I realized I should have cut part of the black covering off to make it easier!

I had to change out my three prong to a four prong in a new house, all the wires are set up in the same exact way in this video, but when I'd plug it in it wouldn't start. Towards the ending of your video, you mentioned that the breaker could be off. I checked the break, and it was off then I flipped it on now it starts.

Last week I tossed a Kenmore dryer. However, it was a Sears Kenmore, which I bought 42 years ago. I replaced it with a GE. However, I changed the outlet to 4 pin, as all 4 wires were available, instead of changing the dryer cord.

I have the same question as a few others. The internal grounding wire on my dryer is green and yellow, not white. So do I still put that internal wire with the white wire? Or do you put both green wires under the green screw?

It really pisses me off because everyone doesn’t have the white wire. Some dryers have the green & yellow wire . But no videos on that one. Unless and very confusing.

In the video above, your side had a white wire that you placed together with the other white wire in the middle. The wire on the side of mine is green with a yellow strip. Do I connect that to the green wire with the new green wire or the white wire like you did in the video even though it's green on my machine.

Hey so I'm trying to go from a 3 to a 4 prong, but the wire off my dryer has a all green wire tied into where youbhave your ground. Should I just color match all the wires and put the green off the 4 prong into the same spot as the green coming off the dryer?
