What about the green ground wire screwed on from the 4 prong cable? Do you leave it on, or unscrew it?

Why do dryers in USA need a higher voltage? Here in Ireland all household appliances (unless hard wired oven maybe) use 240Volt
Washer, dryer, kettle etc

Only specialist industrial appliances need higher voltage

Oorrr.. how about.. my husband was found dead on the side walk 2 blocks down from our home and im raising our daughter and trying to stay above water and I cant afford an electrician or a new dryer and can't take time off to fix mine.. unless you wanted to pay for it ????
