Here in Chile, after the pandemic, we are filled with Chinese brands and cars that are actually quite decent and respect all regulations.

11:55 She perfectly described the state of German cars now. Nothing special beyond the glamour associated to the names.

You forgot LADA mechanic is simple, easy, and can be done 100% IN YOUR DRIVEWAY, I am so tired of my modern car that I can fix maximum 50% of what breaks from my garage. And LADA have parts EVERYWHERE, SAME DAY.

The West leaving Russia has been a blessing for Russian businesses. They fill the void. China, being a strong supporter of Russia through thick and thin naturally also was allowed to flourish as well. That's perfectly fine and the growth of the multipolar world will enrich both nations much more going forward.

I live in Moscow all my life. I do not have a car, never wanted a car and most possibly will never have one. Public transport is so much cheaper and convenient, shops are in walking distance. Delivery services working 24/7. Have to mention all this because sometimes it is difficult for US public to understand how unnecessary owning personal car in Russia is.

When I was in Moscow a few years ago I was amazed at the number of S class Mercs and G Wagons.

Niva is a great second car if you have a dacha. You drive from the city to the dacha in a minivan, and the next day you switch to Niva and drive to the forest, to the lakes, or to the river, without worrying about cross-country ability.
Thanks for the work!

I am Italian, I bought a Lada Niva twenty years ago to go off-road on the roads of the Alps. It is not the car I use every day to go to work but it is still the car that gives me the most fun. It is not particularly reliable (moreover mine is 25 years old...) but it is very easy to repair even without the help of specific equipment. It is a car born for mud and dirt tracks, it does its job well now as it did in '77!

That guy is the type of seller everyone hates. Selling damaged cars and not telling anyone about it trying to make a quick profit at the expense of the buyers.

I just want to say I've seen every single video on this channel and it's not because of the content. I don't care about sanctions or cars but you're storytelling is off the charts good. I enjoy these videos on a ridiculous level. Keep up the good work. Молодец!

The quality of Chinese cars will only get better and better - there is no going back.

Because Russia imposes a 48% tariff on imported cars, and there are other fees to protect local manufacturers

Why would anyone want a complex and unreliable Western car when there isn't the infrastructure to source spare parts and fix them when they inevitably break down or have serious software faults? The Niva is awesome... rugged, simple with no complex electronics, easy to maintain and spare parts are cheap.

A few corrections to the video:
1. Ford has been out of the Russian market for quite a while even before the sanctions
2. Chinese cars are assembled in their own factories in Russia, or directly imported. Abandoned Western car factories in Russia are doing different things, but not a lot of car assembly actually.
3. Chinese cars in Russia cost more than in China because of the import tariffs. The lack of competition has nothing to do with it.
4. I was surprised Lada Vesta wasn't mentioned - the flagship model of Lada. Instead a very specific Niva Legend was talked about.
