How to Remove an Engine - FULL TUTORIAL!

This is a full tutorial showing you exactly how to remove an engine out of an automobile in great detail. Our example vehicle is an 1981 Ford Bronco but all the principles that I used to remove this engine apply to all cars and trucks. Removing an engine is an essential part of restoring a vehicle or building an engine. It also is a great way to find an engine at a junk yard or pick your part yard to rebuild.

Great teacher for removing an engine, I love his clear thorough instruction with plenty of lighting that shows what you’re doing on the engine parts.👍

I’m 16 and have a 1988 k1500 if that makes a difference but I don’t have anyone to help me and have to watch videos and learn, thank you

You have the best instructional videos on every Automotive subject, in my humble opinion. Thanks for taking the time and effort to teach us.

I'm currently rebuilding a 390 FE for a 1971 F100, my first total restore I'm tackling. Thank you for this complete teardown, it's a lot of things I've learned during my teardown process as well - especially just throwing out all the old, hard rubber!

I'd love to see a video that looks at some older engine blocks and determines if they're still good/usable or not. I haven't really been able to determine what can stop a block from being used - other than obvious cracks.

On the subject of wiring...I would love to see you put a Painless Wiring kit into something like this. My 79 Firebird has factory wiring and it needs to all go away but such massive electrical work scares the crap out of me. I would love to see how you do it in your typical, point by point, long form videos.

Great video man, I am currently attempting to remove a seized engine from a 1982 bronco. How do I remove the bolts from the flywheel if my engine is seized?

I was trying to find the part where you did the tq converter bolts, it may have been brief, but I missed it! But other than that, this was a great refresher. I’m about to pull my 300 6 cylinder from my 82 f-100 which is essentially the same exact process as here. Thanks! I figured out the tq converter nuts myself pretty easily!

I’m self taught and rely on videos like this for guidance. Any advice for someone like me with zero experience? I know to take my time, but is there anything else I should know or be aware of? Thank you

Hey I’m at the part where I took the starter off but my torque converter isn’t spinning 😬 what should I do? Any help would be much appreciated!

So if i also wanted to change torque converter, does it just slide out after engine is removed?
