Hi Paul! I'm a Romanian and i have to say that we consider Moldovians as our brothers and sisters. Both nations consider that we are actually one nation that should unite again, but there are parts oposing it mostly because of the russian influence and other political and economic factors. Pretty much, what is the Republic of Moldova now, it's actually around 1/2 of the Principality of Moldova. The Russians took only a part of Moldova, the region calleg Bassarabia, so the rest of it it's still part of Romania (the eastern part of Romania it's also called Moldova). Can't wait for the Romanian episode. If you need my help, i would help you with pleasure

Hey Barbs, as Italian I can tell you that we never refer to ourselves as "Latinos", when we describe us in English. Nowadays this term it's more related to Latin America. The more correct version of the term I think is "Latins".

their coat of arms is the coat of arms of the Moldavia region in Romania which I live :)

Also in romania red DOES stand for the blood of those who fought for the freedom

Moldova was a medieval principality, but throughout its history, most of the time, the capitals were settlements from present day Romania (e.g. Baia, Suceava, Iași).

Until 2010, the coat of arms was displayed ONLY on the front of the flag, (the Back was just the tricolour). That makes it one of the only flags to have a different front side than back side.
