Super Moist Chocolate Banana Cake with Ganache Frosting

📌 Ingredients To Make Chocolate Banana Cake:
Enough amount for 2 1.5 Quart Pans
[Bottom: 4inch (10.1cm) ✖︎ 7 inch (17.8cm), Top: 5inch (12.7cm) ✖︎ 8inch (20.3cm)]
* Coat butter thinly.

[Cake]
• Banana (Ripe): 400g | 14.1oz (about 4 medium bananas)
• Egg: 200g | 7oz (about 4 medium-large eggs)
• Oil: 200g | 7oz (1 US cup)
• Vanilla extract: 2 tsp
• Granulated sugar: 400g | 14.1oz (2 US cups)
• Salt: 1 tsp
• All-purpose flour: 300g | 10.6oz (2 1/3 US cups)
• Cocoa powder: 100g | 3.5oz (2/3 + 1/6 US cups)
• Baking powder: 1 Tbsp
• Baking soda: 1 Tbsp
• Hot water: 400g | 14.1oz (1 2/3 US cups)

🔥Bake at 365F | 185C for about 40 minutes until the center is cooked through
* The time & temperature may vary depending on the oven.

[Ganache frosting] Enough for 2 loafs
• Dark chocolate (I used 58% Couverture chocolate today): 400g | 14.1oz
• Heavy Cream: 400g | 14.1oz
• Honey: About 1 Tbsp

• Toasted walnut: Some (Optional)

Thank you soo much Aya for this simple yet rich and flavour-packed recipe! I made this today for my brother's birthday and it turned out sooo good!! Definitely the best cake that I've ever made and ate! My whole family and neighbours devoured the cake in seconds! I added half a tsp of coffee in the hot water and it really added a subtle yet rich flavour. I used whole wheat flour which didn't really make a difference in the final result! I love this recipe a lott!! Gonna make it again! This recipe is definitely a treasure for all the chocolate lovers out there! Rich, exotic, moist, fluffy, chocolaty and easy to prepare!!

Made this cake today, as there's only 2 of us and managed to buy 1 banana from 7-11, I quartered the recipe and bake it in a A04 loaf pan. My husband who is not a fan of banana actually polished off the cake. This recipe is now in my staple collection. Thank you so much Aya :)

I made this! I used white whole wheat flour (because that's what I had), and it still turned out very soft and moist. A great use of leftover bananas. I didn't make the ganache but the cake itself was plenty decadent and delicious on its own. It got very positive reviews from people I shared it with.

Just now pulled my second loaf of the 2 batch-loaf from the freezer (about two months old). Once it came to room temp it was as moist as was the other loaf consumed on the day I made them.
Easy to split the Ganache frosting recipe in half to frost one loaf ad lib. I make these for my wife since I can no longer eat. She adores this recipe as well as the other two things of yours I've made so far; the Frosted Lemon Pound Cake, & the Cheese Cake Cup-cakes with berry jam and toppings.
Great stuff all round. Great teacher as well, which is what I needed.
Using the metric system is the way to go. I love that system for all cooking. easy-peasy!

I love this easy recipe! Have made twice but today I had no bananas and read all the comments & found 2 ppl that made without bananas so I did it too and came out perfectly! PS…I use avocado oil for baking because no weird flavor, very neutral. I do like the one with bananas as best but if you don’t have any just go ahead without and it’s perfectly great! I followed the same directions but no bananas and I also made this into giant (jumbo) cupcakes and it cooked about 32 minutes and done! BEST RECIPE EVER!

I made this 2 days ago and put in the fridge, today I made the chocolate ganache. When I cut it and tried it taste like fresh from the oven, it was so moist and delicious😋. My family loves it 😊. Highly recommend people to make it ❤

I just found your video and prepared the ingredients, it turns best banana chocolate cake ever!! will absolutely bake again and again and again.
my hubby loves the fluffy and melt in the mouth.
FYI, I reduce the sugar become 300grams and it turns perfect for us.

This cake looks incredibly appealing. I tried it out yesterday. At first I was tempted tu reduce the amount of sugar and cocoa as it seemed really too much. But then I decided to stick to your recipe and surprisingly it turned out soooo delicious, moist and soft. It is not too sweet nor bitter. And the fragrance while Thank you for shating this wonderful yet easy recipe with us. I will definitely make it often 😀

I made this cake using coconut sugar and rapeseed oil to make it a healthier treat and used 85% dark chocolate and Elmlea for the ganache and it was absolutely amazing This is the best chocolate cake recipe I have ever found and the best cake I’ve ever made !!! I made this today. Used whole wheat flour and it turned out super soft and moist and chocolaty! What i did different was to blend the bananas as my son doesn't like the texture of them. And he couldn't even tell that this cake had so many bananas! ❤❤❤❤

Great overall. I made this cake already 5-6 times but every time I used around half of the sugar and it turned out perfect. I left out the frosting as it only adds extra sugar. It’s already sweet enough even with half of the amount of sugar.

Hi Aya.
I tried this cake few times. What I realised, 100g of cocoa is too much. I tried recently with 50 g and taste was way better. I'm using UK Sainsbury's shop the cheapest cocoa, surprisingly, better than from the bakers shelf. 😮
What I also used recently, because it was Sunday and I couldn't find any thick cream and I've used something what is called ELMLEA DOUBLE, which is not dairy 🤷‍♀️
I've resolved chocolate as usual, but I've whipped 200 ml of cream (because I forgot that you need 400) and added this whipped cream to the hot chocolate. despite keeping it in the fridge overnight, the texture was still slightly soft. It wasn't flowing, but it was tall and soft. I can recommend it for someone who prefers softer texture and can make it day before 😊 It was surprisingly tasty.

This cake is one of my favourites 🎉❤
