How to downgrade version of Google Chrome tutorial

2. Scroll down until you find a *compatible* version of old Chrome. Download the older chrome file on your computer by double-clicking the blue link and "open" the downloaded file (you may need to put in an administrator password for permission).
3. After you downloaded the older chrome version. In this exact order; quit all current chrome tabs, remove "chrome" from dashboard (hover mouse cursor over "chrome", _right-click_, *" **-force-** quit"* ), then go into "applications" and drag your current version of "chrome" to "trash".
4. Now open the older file of "Chrome" (that you downloaded in Step 2.) and an older version of Google Chrome internet webpage should open.
5. Click the 3 dots (top-right corner); a drop-down box will appear, choose "settings" and it will redirect you to Chrome's "Settings" page.
6. Under the subtitle "Settings", click "About Chrome" which will let you know which chrome version is running (this shows you if you succeded in downloading an older version).

Don't forget to turn off auto-update.

Worked for a few weeks.Now it automatically updates.I tried doing everything over again yesterday but again today it updated....great!

If you have progress on your current chrome, and downgrade it, will it delete everything you had done on the new version?
