Do you share screenshots of your running route as a #fitspo? Or post mirror selfies to show off your #ootd? These photos could be all cyber criminals need to suss out your daily routine, social network and home address.

Horangi’s cybersecurity expert, Cheng Lai Ki, dug up personal information about Why It Matters host Joshua Lim, from trawling his public social media accounts. He explains how these details could be exploited to scam a person, or hack into their workplace.

Joshua also cyber-stalked 987FM radio deejay Joakim Gomez on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and shocked him by almost nailing his home layout and address.

Nothing new. Personally I almost never post pictures of myself on Instagram, never post pictures with geotags, made at home. Just shoot architecture and interesting places, random strangers. Never shoot house where I live. In FB do not use real name. I am almost mediocre citizen of Ukraine.

You may not be a VIP, but you know and have access to a VIP. So the hacker will target the people around the VIP to steal data, money, and/or sabotage e.g. delete the life's data of the VIP. Separately, posting selfie of yourself trying new clothes in front of a mirror on social media, enables hackers to know the make and model of your phone and its vulnerabilities

This is why i laugh at ppl when they use "no pic" as an argument for acct legitimacy.

They got pic but no brain.
