What does fuel tank capacity have to do with the cost of ownership? I’d just go with MPG and vehicle cost and maintenance etc.

I have 2003 Ford F150 with 130k miles, 2004 Dodge 2500 diesel with 250k miles, and 2017 Honda Accord hybrid with 140k miles. The best thing is, paid cash for all. All vehicles have a purpose for us. F150 is our winter vehicle, the Dodge is our tow vehicle and the Honda is our daily driver.

Our f150 holds 36 gallons. I love not filling up as often

I always wanted to get a Ford Mustang 😊

The amount it cost to fill up the tank is largely irrelevant. My Mustang cost about $62 to fill up (16 gallon tank but you never run your vehicle completely out of fuel before you fill up, so realistically 15.5 gallons) at $4 per gallon (it's modified and requires 93 octane). It returns about 21 MPG in mixed driving. My F-150 has a 36 gallon fuel tank but runs fine on 87 octane, so I"m spending much more to fill it up; about $121. It gets about 18-19 MPG in mixed driving. However when you break down the cost per mile, both are about the same. But here, she's focusing on the cost to fill the tank which doesn't matter. The cost per mile is what matters if you're overly concerned about the cost of driving.

Our suburban is a diesel and gets 22mpg city and about 27mpg highway with a 28 gallon tank. We only have to put diesel in it once a month 😄. It can go 700 miles on the highway on a tank. Cost close to $100 to fill.

Nobody's buying a $39k Silverado.... That's a 2wd 2door truck... Realistically any Silverado you ACTUALLY see on the road is at least a $50k truck which is at a base model so to say their price is coming down is poor wording bc they're not.. and to go based off of gas prices on which vehicles are a bad choice is kinda pointless bc that'll be based off where you live and really has nothing to do with the vehicle themselves

I drove the previous generation Camry and got 46 mpg

Sequoia owner….i may pay more at the pump, but the reliability of Toyota and my vehicle NOT being in the shop often makes it worth it for our family.

We have a Sequoia and paid cash for it. I would say the Sequoia and Tundra definitely hold the best resale value on your list and are incredibly reliable - and we hold on to our cars forever so to us it’s been worth it. I agree with others the values you have placed on these vehicles are very low and I don’t believe they are accurate purchase prices.

Hyundai Accent
30 gpm
Price $17000
Amortization: $1000 a year
Cost to fill up the tank: $40

And yes, we have two kids. If we had three, we would still have the same car. Cause kids are small people.

Size of tank and how much it costs to fill that tank makes no difference. Purchase price, MPG and vehicle reliability is all that matters.

At the same token, papa Dave will say; "you do not need any car, you can't afford it!", "ride a bicycle!" "Now, rice and beans, beans and rice so you can step up to a hopti soon, got it?"

$81K for an Escalade is for the cheapest bare bones trim. Most trims of the Escalade are $100K and up.

I am a fan of this channel but disagree on this video; isn’t it better to have a vehicle that is thristy but does not break,
and is durable…? Or have a none reliable that is more economic on gas…? Of course if you want both you need to pick a smaller or EV/PHEV/HEV, etc…

One expensive vehicle on repairs overpasses a reliable thristy…🤷🏻
