I actually bought a brand-new Subaru SVX back in 1991, when they first came out. A year later, my transmission blew up. So he ain't lying. It was under warranty, so it didn't cost me anything. I was the coolest 20 year old around with that thing, and yes, I bought it myself. One of the coolest cars I have ever owned. Good times!

So far for the blob eye  Sti. I never had any issues Transmission or Drive train for 30k miles. Note I bought it at like 93, 000 . Dirt fish uses stock stis for rally training people.
   Your correct about the engine being fragile. I didn't care  because. My plan was to rebuild the  motor at the proper maintainable  powers.
Which max for stock like reliability is about 500 whp on 91octane. Mind was 350whp and I drove it hard lol.
    500whp with the right parts should go for about 50k miles. Stock Drive train with upgraded clutch. Trust I know first hand.

If you manual swap them they are extremely reliable

Cheap and subaru?? Nahh. The 3.3 out of the SVX bolts up to the STI 6 spd for anyone looking to buy a SVX.

Ever since I saw an SVX on marketplace I’ve been salivating at the thought of having one. From what I’ve heard they handle amazingly, I know the transmission sucks but you can cruise in style at an affordable price

Hey another good one to add is the Huyndai genesis coupe. Because it’s super hard to find shops that work on Korean cars and there’s limited supply of tuners if you can even find a shop to mod it

That’s why I’m so glad I found mine from an old man who had two notebooks worth of maintenance receipts and kept it in a garage after he had purchased it himself in 04, I had almost given up looking too
