I have actually had a melon and an avocado that was coated with Apeel; the avocado "felt" ripe, but was actually rotton, the cantaloupe looked and smelled ripe, but had the flavor of plastic and was hard, like chewing memory foam. That was enough for me to never purchase anything coated in this substance ever again.

I used to buy apples at Costco and I've noticed that they don't taste like apples at all. Even different brands.
One day I've decided to do a rotting test. I left one apple on the counter and started looking for any visible changes.
After 4 months that apple was in perfect condition and then I realized that somebody modified it and it shouldn't be consumed.
I got rid of that apple because every time I looked at it I saw a poison asking me to eat it.

We need to get back to backyard gardening. The days are long gone when we grew our own fruits and vegetables and then preserved them for the winter months in mason jars. Every house on the street had gardens back in the 50’s and 60’s.
Every farmer had family garden patches and pantries full of preserves.
This idea of huge conglomerates owning millions of acres and feeding cities who care only about their next dollar is out of control.
