Apeel Technology was founded by James Rogers, PhD, out of U.C. Santa Barbara. He was named a World Economic Forum (WEF) Young Global Leader in 2020. (source) So far, Apeel has received $719 million in funding from multiple sources, including Anne Wojcicki (23andMe), Katy Perry, Oprah Winfrey, GIC (the sovereign wealth fund of the government of Singapore), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, as well as a number of other investment firms and venture capitalists.

As a former fruit warehouse mechanic I can tell you that we were putting Johnsons fc 40 carnauba wax mixed with thiobendazole or tbz for decades. Export apples were treated with food grade shellac. It's still the same with the exception of having a more food grade carnauba. Fruit processed as organic requires a stringent cleaning of equipment as European testing goes down to parts per million of TBZ. Non organic fruit has been sprayed with increasingly less human toxic pesticides since the 90s . This is in Central Washington. I'm not sure about other places. I can for sure tell you only to eat apple products from USA. Chinese apples and juices may contain chemicals banned in the US since the 60s

Another reason to buy local, farmer's markets and then preserve and store for winter. Grow whatever you can to supplement your diet.😮

A challenge with this - many people try to avoid seed oils, because of potential inflammatory properties. A huge challenge - when our food has ingredients added without full information given to the consumer.
