My husband had an undetected tooth infection, which led to an infected sinus requiring surgery. One week later, he got blood clots in his lungs from not moving around after the surgery. Had emergency surgery to remove said clots. Doctor said he should have been dead, because his entire lungs were full of clots. Thank God he made it through. He visits the dentist religiously. Still stunned that they never picked up the problem. Dental care is absolutely essential.

What he said is true and why it's ridiculous to separate dental insurance, from health insurance.
Health insurance should cover dental.

I have a tooth infection for months.
Being hypertensive, my dentist told me he couldn't remove it because of my pressure being too high and that I could bleed to death if he had removed it.
He prescribed pain killers for me, because the pain in my tooth, head and eyes were excruciating.
I had to go back on pressure tabs to controle hypertension, but I couldn't because I was allergic to all those I were on in the past.
I didn't know what to do because all the dentists I had tried told me the same thing.
So I stopped using excess sugar, and kept brushing.
The Lord saw me through this untill one day I was eating and the tooth just fell on my tongue...no bleeding, no pain!!!
Glory be to the Lord God Almighty in Jesus's mighty name.

My best friend's husband died from this. Emergency room said headache was caused by "stress". Headache after dental work is a bad sign. Don't let doctors tell you different.

I had a friend that had an infected tooth. Well that infection got into her bloodstream and she had sepsis. She almost died. The doctors and nurses in the hospital saved her life. She survived and is doing fine now.

"Lack of dental care can kill you!"

Tell that to my insurance company.

Be careful of the dentist you choose . I went to a new one and he nearly killed me, seriously. Mouth infection is serious.

And this is exactly why it's ridiculous to have people carry separate dental insurance when it's proven that oral hygiene has a direct effect to your overall health! Your medical coverage should ALSO work towards dental care!

I did drugs when I was a younger man. I'm 50 now. My teeth had serious problems and a lot of bleeding and rotten issues. Luckily my insurance covered me getting all of my teeth pulled and full dentures. I thank God everyday I don't have to deal with the pain that I dealt with. I also thank God everyday that I've been clean for those drugs for 21 years

I had 5 agonizing months of brain fog, heart palpitations that sent me to the ER once per month only to be told nothing was wrong. Then it turned to night sweats and cold sweats and suicidal thoughts because I couldn't sleep well at night. Turned out that I had an infected root canaled tooth. Dentists, doctors, ER docs, endodontis could not figure it out....I had a DREAM that my tooth needed to be pulled then I would heal...NO ONE believed me but I had an endodontis I found the night before agree to pull it and it was right...10 days of antibiotics and 3 months later I completely healed. PLEASE DO NOT GET A ROOT CANAL, they can go bad. GET IT PULLED.

I had 3 root canals years ago. One day i began to have severe pain. It turned out to be an abcess above the gums. I have had several teeth removed and am saving for dentures. I stopped my dental insurance because Medicare doesn't pay for dentures unless you have a cadillac plan and even the you may have to wait 2 years ! So i have only 4 top teeth and 8 lower teeth. I have no chewing teeth, just the biting teeth. I have to eat very mushy food or very tiny pieces of things like meat. I am now figuring out how i can afford decent looking dentures. This stuff should all be covered by regular Medicare. This is what seniors need the most. Not cleanings or fillings when they need to come out.

Weird how eyes and teeth aren’t considered part of your body when it comes to United States👍🏻🇺🇸 healthcare coverage.

Physio story: I had a patient with mild pain in her left hip after jogging. She came in for a consult and wanted to check technique, and issues she might not have been aware of.
At the end of our scheduled sessions, I worked on her big toe on the right side. While she usually left relaxed and happy, she seemed confused and worked up. It was odd, but as young as I was, I didn't know what to make of it.
A couple of weeks later, she came in to tell me what happened. She was scheduled to get crowns over three molars. One couldn't bear it or there was a gap, so the last molar was supposed to be one of the anchors. She had gone to the dentist several times due to pain in said molar. The dentist couldn't see anything, and also x-ray didn't show anything. For some reason me working on said toe triggered some inflammation. Hence the confusion. Pain kicked in a few hours later. The tooth had to be pulled, and a chronic infection of the root emerged. Turns out, also the hip problems were a reaction to whatever happened in the jaw.
Since then, I have asked most patients about dentist's appointments.

I’ve had so many bad dentists it’s insane. One overdrilled a cavity and gave me years of pain & misery. She worked 4 days a week - every Friday off. I curse her laziness and greed

Teeth are expensive to keep. I had asymptomatic infections and it took me several different dentists to finally pull out and clean the cavitations. The dental surgeon couldn’t believe the amount of infection I had. I believe it contributed to breast cancer. Thankfully I’m still here 7 years on.

Apparently problems with teeth have been the biggest killer of humanity since time began. It's just not spoken about.

I was in the dental field as an assistant for 37 years and never heard anybody say this online before. Good to hear that somebody's sharing it besides dental assistance

I asked the dentist why I get sinus problems every time my gums flare up and if it was the sinus bothering the gums or the gums affecting the sinus. He said there's no connection. I left that dentists.
