I had this surgery done through my belly. And I am so glad I did because I do not have pain over there anymore. It has been 3 weeks since surgery.

Thank you so Much! I have had the L2 to S1 with the cage. When I heard Dr. Cheng (Univ Cincinnati) tell me that he will have to go through my "belly" for the "First" procedure. I had to ask him again. Anyway Dr. Cheng is known for helping lost caused. I had many previous surgery's but this one really sturdier everything up!
Know T12 to L2...looking forward to helping my Quadroiceps..They have been aching so badly that they give out. Lucky I know how to fall gracefully for now but this may save my Life Literally!!!
Thank You Dr. Cheng!

Had this surgery 3 months ago, best decision no more pain ! And they went through my belly to prevent cutting through back muscles and making the area weaker !

I had this surgery. Now my L4 and L5 vertebrae are fused. I was lucky as it was a successful surgery, and my bones healed very well. I still have pain due to some facet joint pain. However, I can go to the gym and live mostly a normal life. My disc was completely gone, so this surgery was necessary.

I had this done three and a half years. Had to have the Posterior part as well. A horizontal incision was done on my low abdomen. Everything went well.

What are the chances of returning to a very hard heavy lifting construction job after a L5\S1 Alif with pedicle screws ??

Hi, what’s the difference between an orthopedic surgeon and Neurologist surgeon for this type of surgery?

My husband had this surgery in 2020 and he says it was the best thing he could have done it's a struggle but he is still walking when they said he's not ever going to walk again

I would never make a paramedics incision to approach 5-1 or any level of the lumbar spine. The spine is a midline structure make a midline retroperitoneal approach!

I’m trying to avoid this. I’ve seen some things online ima try first. I hope the science can catch up a lil more because I hear it’s a 50/50 chance it improves life and then I hear down the road the fusion can put strain in other areas of the spine.
