At least what I do is diet all week (deficit) and bring my calories up to maintenance for Saturday and Sunday. Still tracking my macros but being flexible on a meal or two for both particular days. Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong. But I’ve been seeing results that way…

Look up the MATADOR study. In a nutshell they had two groups of people. Group A dieted without stopping. Group B dieted with diet breaks. They were both in a caloric deficit for the same total amount of time. Group B lost more weight and kept the weight off for longer.

0:46 This same observation is why, in a lifting context, I don't schedule deloads. If I'm so many weeks into a meso and still making good gains, why mess up that groove?

nope even if you feel really good, they can still help mitigate the accumulation of diet fatigue later and slow down metabolic adaptation and also they help you retain more muscle

My diet break is every Saturday night, I skip a meal & a snack that day and go off radar and eat what ever I like and as much as I like. & still lose body fat doing this while I’m in a cut phase
