That camera holder shooting the landslide is Fired!

That skier may have been the "thing" that started the avalanche - disturbing the status of the snow cover.

I just had three reasons why I don't want to live on a mountain or on the side of it.. NO to the volcano and NO to skiing off a big avalanche prone mountain and ESPECIALLY NO to building my house on a landslide prone hill!

I don't speak any Indonesian but I think the gist of the convo at 7.30 was "come away from the edge!!!!"

Imagine how terrible it would be if you lost your house and all your belongings in the dead of the night to a landslide like that!

What I like about your channel is you give us an overview and an introduction. And then you allow the video and its audio to speak for itself.

the people on Mount Merapi might actually have been lucky that they were this close to the eruption when it started.
At the beginning of an eruption the volcano still has a lot of pressure to let out and therefore the "strength" to keep the ash cloud up and going. It gets really dangerous once the pressure becomes unstable because that's when pyroclastic clouds form.
However, that does NOT mean you can just stay there and watch!
There is no guarantee that a change in pressure won't occur early on, but it's a bit less likely.
Maybe just don't go near Mount Merapi ever. It's known to be one of the most explosive, unpredictable volcanoes on earth.

They don't seem that worried to me about the volcano.

Please make an exclusive video on the ongoing flooding in Pakistan due to heavy monsoon rains and torrential downpours. The damage so far has been catastrophic. 30 million people have been directly affected. Thousands of people have already lost their lives. Hundreds and thousands have lost their homes and properties entirely. Flash floods have caused hundreds of thousands of people to relocate while countless others are missing. Entire settlements, villages, towns and cities alike have been destroyed. Buildings, infrastructures, homes, private and commercial vehicles, resorts, mosques, hospitals, marketplaces, roads, bridges, dams, trees, crops, livestock, vegetation, farm equipment including heavy machinery, power lines, grids, electricity towers, power stations, temporary tent settlements, relief camps, gas stations, tourist sites and other natural and manmade structures along with a huge people including the old, children and women with their belongings have been washed away by the water. Water transport vessels all over the country have capsized killing hundreds of flood affected travelers on a daily basis. The lose of life, economy and ecology is incomprehensible and incomparable, having already exceeded the toll from past disasters ever experienced and reported in over a century, far greater than the damage that the disastrous floods caused back in the year 2011. The floodwater has caused the dams, lakes, water reservoirs, barrages, canals, rivers, drain waterways, spillways, streams and jets and other water bodies to overflow, causing massive rockslides, siltation and further erosion of soil. I'm sorry for posting settle in the comment and even being repatitive at times but there is no other way to emphasize how disastrous and calamitous the state of the country actually is at the moment. You need to see it to believe it. All four provinces have been deeply hit by the flash floods at the entire country is in dire need of help.

Scary. We are from Bicol Region in the Philippines. We have the perfect cone Mayon Volcano and we always experience strong typhoons. There was one typhoon (Reming) that lasted for several hours. Our town was submerged in water. About a thousand were killed in one brgy. including someone we personally know. So we really have to do something for our mother nature like tree planting and coastal clean-up.

why landslides? good drainage and watchful selection of sites to build a simple house is key to make the house stays on and live inside it. And some piling to firm up the soil foundation.

The land slips are usually caused by humans removing trees. The skier was not 'caught' in 3 avalanches, he caused them.
