The "works" A. don't need to be seen or acknowledged by man.. And B. are the works of the Lord Jesus Christ THROUGH his CHOSEN SHEEP.

Truth. By their works you shall know them.

Christ is the King of all creation. His grace is eternal and his forgiveness reaches all.

Neither is salvation found in any other for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Yes, repentance and good works are necessary for a living faith but a faith in what? The faith is that Christ is able to finish the good work that he began in us. The faith is that Jesus will redeem us through his death and resurrection.

Now there is nothing wrong with doing good works. Good works are essential and necessary for salvation, not because they make us worthy but because they demonstrate the power of God in us. It is God who works within us to will and to do of his good pleasure. For we are his workmanship, created in ... CHRIST JESUS unto good works. So the good works that we do are not for the sake of salvation but for the sake of Christ who died to forgive us of our sins. How can we have God living in us and NOT do good works? Can we do evil in the name of the Lord? Therefore we do good works because we have been set free from the bondage of sin through the death of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Faith of its own accomplishes little. Faith is built by excercising it. When the Spirt prompts, do we pay heed and do?
If not then we fall short - which is sin.

If you believe in God's moral standards to which one should live their life by, then your life should show it.

James chapter 2 is not about heaven and hell. It is about other things like helping others and spiritual maturity. If you make James 2 about heaven and hell for yourself, then you go to hell, because Romans chapter 4 is about heaven and hell, and it makes it very clear that you cannot add even one work to getting into heaven and avoiding hell.

Lets talk about the Old then lets talk about Talmud. Then lets talk about The Protocols of the Elders of Zion....Dennis.

This is a bad handling of James 2:14.

James is talking about practical faith, not justifying faith.

There are 3 tenses of salvation:

Justification, sanctification and glorification.

James is about the middle tense.

I like Prager but not on this topic.

It is impossible to have faith and not have works, then it's not faith. Once you accept Jesus Christ and receive the holy Spirit, the works will come. If you have no works, then you don't have faith.

Faith alone = salvation to works ✔️
Faith + works = salvation ❌

Hebrews 8:13
In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

Judaism clings to the old covenant and expects the blood of bulls and goats to save them. Only the blood of Christ will save us.

We are not saved by works or through works but unto works, obviously good works follow believing Jesus Christ alone for salvation and thats out of love and gratitude.

What about works within the faith, but not having any recognition of the faith? I've been going to church for years, helped so many people, and help in the church, and yet I feel further and further away from God. All the words feel impossible to obtain or are contradictory to my current situations. God says to bring all of yourself to repent, but what if that is physically and mentally impossible to do?

Dennis certainly has it right. There is the crucially important difference between being saved my means, or through. your works -- impossible, since you don't have the power to do that -- and being saved *because* of your works, whereby we only do what is expected of us by God -- a requirement that is repeated throughout the NT. We are to do the will of the Father, as Christ made very emphatically plain. The good works we do are the substance of our faith

The book of Galatians also says not to use our freedom (freedom from sin) to indulge our sinful pleasures. God forgives our sin, but that doesn't justify the choice to sin after salvation.

Not the good you do, your obedience to the word of God!
