In this video, I will show you how to repair the #ExpandableHose #Xhose, it is a very handy and light in weight garden hose however, it doesn't last very long. Mine burst a week ago and I only spent $3.50 CAD to repair it and I want to share my experience with you. I hope I can inspire more people to DIY. Great video to help people salvage things from the landfill! You may not need the new hose. My hardware store gave me two brass adapters: One from 3/8" hose (+ hoseclamp, just as shown in the video) to 1/2" threaded connection then another from 1/2" threaded to 3/4" threaded (garden hose size). Then you only have to do one hoseclamp. The rest is solid brass threaded connections. Maybe locktite in between the brass pieces to prevent them from unscrewing when you attach and detach the hose from the spigot. I skipped that. Thanks again for the helpful video!

For a spare washer hose, "take it from your mother-in-law's washer" 😂

Thank you So so much. You saved me $100!. I fixed 2 Silver Bullets. I had everything except the coupling. I used 1/2 & 3/4 because my hard hose must of been a bit bigger and it worked perfectly. Such a saving! Couldn't be more appreciative.

I'm an old lady on her own. I usually pay a handyman for certain tasks. So when my flexi hose exploded, thot ...buy a new one. Then I found your channel. I will definitely make this repair on my iwn!! Thank You!!

I just purchased 2 and they lasted less than 2 weeks. Will be repairing mine, using your wisdom and will come back to let you know how it goes. Meanwhile, on the commercial advertising, I’ve noticed the actors draining the hose when they are finished using them. I now wonder if this is key to the problem and longevity of the flexible hose. After all, it’s a flexible hose for the purpose and probably not meant to have 24 hours of pressure held in it for that lengthy period of time.

Great idea. Inspired me to buy a 1/4” hose barb x female garden hose and one clamp. Wish I had seen this sooner. Threw my first bad hose away. Fixed the second one. Bought on Amazon…$10 to fix 2 hoses Thanks!

used PEX connector and compression PEX rings. It worked great.

FYI, these hoses last longer if you keep them in a coverage storage- out of the heat-and don’t leave them pressurized for long periods when not using. Great video, thank you for sharing.

I bought several of these and they all started leaking. Some after a few months and some after a year. Most leaks occure in the middle of the hose in many places. It is stupid to repair. I will not buy another one of these, ever.

I am so glad I watched your video before I started cutting... here in the States Home Depot sells the metal connector and the two clamps for $5 in a package. So I already had the repair kit but your tip on clamping the inside rubber hose was a *tantrum* saver. I may get around to the actual repair before the rainy season starts 🤣🇨🇦🇺🇸 Take care!

Why do you need add the hard rubber hose? Can't you just use the connector between the two cut ends of the expandable hose?

Why cant we use the other end of the expandable hose instead of the washing machine hose?

Ok, I'll give that a try. I always take mine inside for the winter and I don't have anything to stress the hose out on. I got a year before it leaked. I see the warranty on the one I bought was thirty days. Pretty flimsy product but there so handy to use and space saving. I'll see how my repair job does.
